Climate Change Deniers Deny Nothing

There have been calls from the self-aggrandizing wing of international politics (e.g. Obama and chums) to make climate cange denial a crime like Holocaust denial. Having been a climate change campaigner for over thirty years I object to this insanity. Apart from a few cranks nobody is denying something is going on, people are merely asking what is really causing it...

Climate Change Deniers Deny Nothing In a post comparing climate change deniers to people who believe the Turin Shoud is authentic, (a shroud over the truth) Science-is-God evangelist Leo Hickman lays into the so called climate change deniers who are really denying nothing but are simply sceptical about the "science" that "proves" catasdtrophic changes in the Earth's weather systems will result if we do not reverse the effects of three hundred years of industrial and domestic pollution overnight.

How do the scientists "prove" their apocalyptic visions. Well as usual some simple minded scientific cunt sat down and did some equations. And that is the whole body of "evidence." Pure speculative mathematics. I can use mathematics to predict which horses will win each race on the card at todays race meetings. My predictions will be 100% reliable, after all mathematics is scientific and science cannot lie. If you backed all my selections however I can confidently predict you would lose money. Science works well with theory, it is very unreliable when applied to reality.

The climate change lobby are getting quite hysterical in their efforts to persuade us that we must accaept their schemes or face disaster because unfortunately they are not winning the argument. Why are they not winning the argument? Because it is all too obvious their agenda, tinkering with weather systems, reflecting sunlight back into space, setting up markets to trade carbon rights in the way banks traded toxic debts to bring about the menldown of the financial system (another fine example of the efficacy of mathematical modelling - the science boys with their equations said the global economy was in fine shape a few weeks before the crash) and all the other schemes that border on crackpot fantasies would not solve the problem even if they worked.

How can we take climate change science theory seriously when predictions of the rise in sea levels vary between one meter and fifty metres?

The time for listening to the self aggrandizing waffle of scientists is long gone. What we must do now is stop thinking of quick fixes and technical whizzkiddery, it is time to concentrate on practical so,lutions that we know will work. Instead of throwing money at idiot scientists and their corrupt paymasters we must improve sea defences, build flood barriers in river estuaries, relocate vulnerable populations, develop crops and methods of farming that will secure our food supply, work on practical ways of conserving and distributing water. Practical solutions are needed, not pie-in-the-sky theories of scientists. Equations don't build sea walls, bricklayers do.

Former Government Adviser Condemns Green Scaremongering.
The trend among people who like to label themseves "scientists" to brush aside criticism from highly educated and well informed individuals outside their specialist field by saying "You're not a scientists, you don't understand science," arouses deep suspicion. Toyota Allegro Reminds Us Of British Carmakers’ Golden Age.

Labour's Minimum Wage Scam
When you hear of a Conservative politician praising Labour for creating a 'flexible job market' that benefits British employers it does not ring true. What Lord Freud was really praising the government for was letting bosses screw their workers by turning a full time job into a part time job. Not the sort of jobs policy you expect from Labour but we're always said they are more Tory than the Tories.

Authoritarian Box Ticking Culture.
Among the things that have alienated people from the Labour party apart from generakl incompetence, is their arrogant and patronising conviction the public are resady to believe anything the government tells them so long as it is dressed up in statistics and delivered by some fresh faced, smooth talking Labour spinmeister. It is very like the authoritarian regime of Orwell's 1984

Teen Binge Drinking Crisis
Politicians, medical experts and church leaders here in Britain are panicking about the binge drinking antics of teenagers. All around the country young people are getting rat-arsed and behaving in an offensive and embarrassing way. I've read things are pretty much the same in the other English speaking nations so we must wonder is something going on, is there some social trend that is

Change You Can't Believe In
by James Dahlberg
For his first contribution to The Daily Stirrer James looks at how the popularity of Barack Obama, the Yes We Can" man has collapsed from the record levels seen right after his inauguration as President to the latest polls that make him the most unpopular president ever after a year in office. The economy, unemployment, the disatrous health reform bill and weakness on foreign polcy have played a big part but how much is due to the failings of man himself.

Massive Overdose Protest
by Ian R. Thorpe

Te Merseyside Skeptics Society (or more accurately the selective Skeptics Society as they only seem to be skeptical about what it is fashionable to be skeptical about) are going to protest about himeopathy today by gathering outside Boots Chemist, Liverpool and taking massive overdoses of homeopathic remedies...Right, who gives a shit, but this is a very funny post on the irrationality of the protesters without supporting homeopathy Homeopathy: Massive Overdose Protest
