Climate Change Crooks And Liars by Ian R Thorpe.
Though climate change alarmists claim that that "the science is settled" no longerr holds water the arguments rage on. If anything they are getting more heated as the climate science lobby, knocked from the moral high grounds show their true colours. But more and more evidence is showing the climate change science was never settyled and the global warming Armageddonists had built their whole case on very flimsy evidence.

A few of you reading this will no doubt have believed the nutty claims of the Climate Science Crooks And Liars (CCCLs) who patrol the web trying to silence any rational discussion of the climate change issue, (who is paying them I wonder, surely nobody would sink so much time and effort into the business of flogging a dead horse unless they were being very well paid.) They employ the old propaganda technique popularised by Dr. Josef Goebbels, Hitler's propaganda chief and a real scientist; "Repeat the lie often enough and it will become the truth." Unfortunately it is not working for them.

Last week CCCLs were claiming the Russell Inquiry into the "Climategate" leaked e-mails scandal surrounding the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit (UEA CRU) had "completely exonerated" the scientists involved in the exchange of compromising emails and confirmed that the "science" was sound. One of the charges the CCCLs like to level is that climate chance deniers (the only thing any of us have denied in my experience is the accusation that we belive there is no cycle of change going on in the atmosphere now.) don't know the difference between real scientists and lobbyists are working for big oil.

We do of course. Real scientists are detached, objective and extremely cautious in their language. Climate Change Crooks and Liars approved scientists are shallow and hysterical, they rely on sentimentalism and emotional blackmail and try to spread fear and panic to help their case, creating lurid verbal images of millions dying. Millions die every day of course, it is the nature of living things to die. The CCCLs would have you believe the "real" scientists are those who agree with the position taken by the alarmist Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change, the United Nations agency set up to monitor risks from climate related events. Those who oppose them believe anyone who has a commercial relationship with any business that aims to profit from carbon trading, carbon capture technologies, solar panels, windmill proliferation and any other unproven and unviable loonytoons "green" technology should declare a conflict of interest and withdraw from any advisory position, paid or unpaid, from which they could influence national or international policy on climate change.

No wonder then the CCCLs seek to present a warped and dishonest version of the Russell report's findings.

So what did the Russell Report really say. Well my opinion will be dismissed as of little worth because I'm a computer guy so here's what a review published in New Scientist magazine had to say on the subject. That's New Scientist as in the magazine devoted to new research in various fields of scientific and technological research, as reported by people with recognised qualifications from accredited Universities in scientific disciplines. Their report began:

IS CLIMATEGATE finally over? It ought to be, with the publication of the third UK report into the emails leaked from the University of East Anglia's Climatic Research Unit (CRU). Incredibly, none looked at the quality of the science itself...

So the science was "exonerated" by reports which did not look at the science. Right. Read the whole review for yourselves.
New Scientist: Without Candour We Can't Trust Climate Science

The science stands then, according to Russell, because it has not been challenged or even examined. Now anyone who knows how these inquiries work will understand there is nothing devious or underhanded about that. Each inquiry, when it is set up is given terms of reference which define its scope. It was simply outside the scope of the three inquiries to report on the validity of the research. They looked for evidence of dishonesty and found none because, as the lead scientist admitted, the evidence had been destroyed at his prompting.
In another interesting development an article by Jonathan Leake in the Sunday Times reports that the US government has suspended funding of CRU. The DoE will make a decision about whether to restart funding at a later date.
The Times is now behind a paywall so there's no link but the article has been reproduced online by GWPF, The Global Warming Policy Foundation:
US Government Halts Funds For Climate Unit

Now the CCCLs are nothing if not predictable so I will preempt their inevitable protest that The Sunday Times is owned by News International, parent company of Fox News. It is so, and Aston Martin Cars are, or were, owned by Ford but that does not mean an Aston Martin V8 Vantage is a Ford Focus wearing a body styling kit. (That link to the Aston Martin homepage has absolutely no relevance but I thought some of the guys might like to look at the car pix before the climate change Nazis stop us of even dreaming of owning such a car and force us all to drive around in a G-Wiz)

If you visit the GWPF web site you will also find this very interesting story that might raise a few eyebrows among those taken in by the oft - repeated lies of the Climate Change Crooks And Liars.
New Carbon Cycle Data Casts Doubt On Climate Models

Here's the opening paragraph to whet your appetite:

Many factors and feedback mechanisms are involved in the climatic response to increasing carbon dioxide levels. The uncertainties in these effects, and our general ignorance, make it almost impossible to predict what will happen to the Earth’s ecosystems as temperature increases. This has not stopped some predicting on the basis of climate models that the world will get drier as the temperature increases and for example, as a consequence, the Amazon rain forest will die and be replaced by savannah or bare earth...

Amazing isn't it how quickly "the science is settled" becomes "the science is very unsettled" under critical and objective analysis.

So who can you trust? The CCCLs say that "climate change deniers" i.e. the people who don't deny climate change is happening but do question the simplistic and reductionist arguments as to why it is happening say Big Oil, Big Coal and Big Finance are funding the opposition to their case. This is at least partly true but would anybody expect businesses to do anything but work to protect their financial interests? The Global Warming Armageddon crowd also represent vested interests however. Al Gore has already made $$$ tens if not hundreds of millions from trading carbon credits. Tata Environmental Research Organisation (TERI) which is headed by Rajendra Pachauri who is alo head of IPCC is owned by Tata International, a conglomerate based in India which claims to be a world leaders in developing carbon capture and other "green" technologies.

Clearly when the CCCLs get on their high horse and shout "vested interests" at their critics it is simply a case of the pot calling the kettle a kitchen utensil (very politically correct these Armageddonists). Before making up your minds on this issue what you must look for is objectivity. Is the author presenting a case and letting you make up your own mind based on the evidence if front of you and your wider instinct? Or is the writer saying "You have to believe this, it's science so that proves it is right.

Here's a tip:
"Believe nothing. No matter where you read it, or who said it, even if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." - Siddhartha Gautama - The Buddha

Study both sides of the argument and make up your own mind who is providing links to respectable scientific publications like Science magazine or New Scientist or The Max Planck Institute or a host of other organisations that have produced balanced and hysteria free reports and who is providing a link they claim will "help you understand climate science" but which merely takes you to one of the authors own old posts. Look at both sides and decide for yourself who is simply repeating the same point over and over, displaying the same graph and chanting the same statistics like a Hare Krishna monk chanting mantras and who is bringing a constant stream of new evidence that throws the orthodoxy into question.

When you have read a cross section of the millions of words generated by both sides of the debate you will understand the planet's climate is changing but Climate Armageddon is not going to happen tomorrow or next week or in 2012. The change is a gradual process, we can deal with it gradually and carefully. If the purpose of punitive carbon taxes is really to reduce carbon emissions those taxes are not needed, oil will run out, coal will become more expensive to extract. That we will burn less carbon in future is a foregone conclusion.

If the cause Climate Armageddonists are campaigning for is political it is easier to make sense of their fanaticism. Governments need massive increases in tax revenue to get them out of sovereign debt crises, the banks need a new market in which they can trade something that does not exist to replace the lost market in toxic debt and corporations know working people will not be suckered into another bout of borrow to spend that would kick start the economy by fuelling a consumer boom with personal debts. And the guilt torn liberals need something to eel self righteous about, a slave for their consciences. That will not work for them because should they ever rid themselves of the guilt complex they would only start to feel guilty about not feeling guilty.

Every way you look at it the future promises to be bleak for the Climate Change Crooks and Liars and the Anthropogenic Global Warming Armageddonists. So if their arguments to seem a tad hysterical don't be too hard on them, they have lost the argument and are in denial. The only weapon they have left is fear and panic.

As Winston Churchill advised, "Keep calm and carry on." Advice underlined by Franklyn D Roosvelt when he said "You have nothing to fear but fear itself."

The Greens, fear and panic merchants, cap and trade profiteers, carbon warmageddonists and usual suspects have been in a funk about the Fukushima nuclear power station accident, demanding we shut down nuclear generation as well as coal mines and oil wells. But the lesson of Fukushima is we should stop worrying and learn to love the atom.

Standing Up To The Climate Science BulliesThe climate science scammers, the pusillanimous poltroons who tried to help their political and corporate pymasters steal £$trillions from the taxpayers of the world with a campaign to spread fear and panic about carbon dioxide have lost the fight with sceptics so comprehensively in the end they resorted to bullying. Now one of the most prominent physicists in the world, Prof. Freeman Dyson has denouched them as fools and frauds.
The Persecution Of Johnny Ball and The Intolerance Of WarmageddonistsVeteran TV presenter Johnny Ball, whose programmes on science and mathematics enthused many young viewers in a way formal education never can, probably did not realise he was stepping into a lion's den when he voiced his opinion that the mathematics on which the carbon driven global warming case rests are very dodgy. Oil Shale Salvation
Recent discoveries of huge gas and oil bearing shale deposits in the USA, CAnada, Russia and under Britain's territorial waters as well as off the Falkland Islands and in the Antarctic are raising false hope of an early end to the energy crisis and food price inflation. Rare Earth Mine Reopens - Triumph For Common Sense.Politicians and the science community rave about how carbon is destroying the planet. But what's the truth about how clean green energy will be. Mining and refining the ores is a huge pollutant but new mining licences are being granted ever so quietly.

How To Criticise ScienceThe Daily Stirrer is no fan of scientists. Science we are OK with, it is often interesting and sometimes produces great benefits. Scientists however are ... well to describe them as a bunch of cunts is totally inadequate. And yet all around the western world scientists are trying to turn science into a religion. So how do we criticise them in order to cut them down to size. The Daily Stirrer's Ian R. Thorpe favours a medieval battleaxe approach, in a metaphorical sense we hope. Although with Ian you can never be sure ...
Cancun Climate Conference Will Ignore Big QuestionsThis years international conferrence on climate change is taking place in Cancun, Mexico this week. Will it be any more successful that last years fiasco in Copenhagen? Unlikely unless the politicians grpw some balls, kill the scientists, sideline the limp wristed politically correct wimp Obama and face up to the read causes of climate problems which all come back to one thing, TOO MANY PEOPLE.

Climate Scientists And The Honesty Question As the world's media turns its attention to the latest shenanigans of world leaders and climate scientists in Cancun, Mexico, The Daily Stirrer's Ian R Thorpe invites us to look at the basic homesty of the carbon trading industry. In the run up to Cancun there has been a flurry of activity in the climate science community, including contributions from those discredited crooks and liars the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit trying to push the old line that people who see through the climate science scam "are not scientists and therefore cannot understand the science. Should we take any notice of people who have demonstrated they have serious integrity issues...
Leading Sceptic's Climate Change U Turn? When one of the world's best known climate change deniers starts talking about how we can deal with climate related problems you might expect the climate scienceology cultists to be cheering. Climate Change: Green Energy Meltdown .As the climate science fraud and the case it made that carbon emissions were the sole cause of global warming and carbon taxes, trading in carbon allowances green energy technologies that belonged in science fiction novels were the way to power the future and save the planet comes unravelled: as the great green energy experiments of Denmark and Spain leave those nations shivering in the dark as power supplies fail and subsidies to green generators bankrupt national economies we look at the real state of the climate crisis.
The Rising Seas Are Not Down To Global Warming Alone.Rising Seas Not Down To Global Warming A new study shows that global warming is not the only cause of swelling seas. Much comes from "water mining" – the pumping of vast amounts of groundwater from beneath the earth, mainly to irrigate crops. This inevitably ends up in the oceans after it evaporates from farmland and comes down as rain.
The study which will be published in the next issue issue of Geophysics Research Letters – estimates that extraction of ground water for domestic and industrial use accounts for about 25% of sea-level rise around the world, the same as the melting ice from the glaciers outside Greenland and Antarctica.

How Our Creature Comforts Are Baking The World
As the arguments rage on between the Climate Science Wankers lobby and the sceptis, realists and out and out deniers we observe that still nobody who gets media coverage, nobody who is talking sense about climate chaos, carbon based fuels, deforestation or over population is really being heard. Quite simply there are too many of us and we want too much. Who needs science or politics to understand that?

The Futility Of Wind Farms. In some ways the Conservative / Liberal Democrat coalition has made quite a good start in government. One area they are set to fail badly however is energy. Driven by politically correct thinking the coalition are set to follow Labour down the road that goes through wind power and eventually leads nowhere. Wind turbines look fine on paper. If they generate at their optimum output for 365 days a year the contribution to energy needs looks like a viable business proposition. The problem is due to the limitations of the technology and the vagaries of the weather wind farms are doing well if they operate at a quarter of their potential output.
Climate Science Debunked By Science Superstar Max Planck. One of the lies most often repeated by the Climate Science lobby is that 'the science stands' i.e. that no fault was found in the scientific work of the CRU. This is both true and a lie, true in that no fault was found, a lie because the reason no fault was found is that to examine the scientific work was outside the Russell panel's terms of reference. This report features the Max Planck Institute's take on climate science and the IPCC.

Climate Science To Blame For ClimateAfter the Copenhagen climate summit failed to agree a plan of action to combat climate change the science lobby have been quick to blame capitalism, business, politicians and the public for the alleged problems of "antropogenic" global warming. But a critical and objective analysis reveals there is olny one culprit. Science alone is to blame.

Climate Change CorruptionThe spiel from the control freak governments of developed nations in the run up to the Copenhagen Climate Conference billed as the last chance to save the planet from a global warming catastrophe went something like this."You must listen to the scientists, you must not think for yourselves, you must never question authority," Luckily we all knew the scientists chanting this mantra were as much crooks and liars as the politicians and billionaires they worked for.

More Climate Science Fraud Exposed: Himalyan Glaciers Are Not Melting
The Himalayas has lost no significant ice over the past decade, according to a new study, that found melting ice from glaciers is having a much smaller effect on sea levels than previously thought. There are two reasons why President Obama rushed to the microphone on Friday shortly after the government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released relatively good news (by recent standards) that the unemployment rate dropped to 8.3% in January, while the economy added 243,000 seasonally adjusted jobs. ...

The Booksellers Association (BA), which represents 3,500 independent bookshops across the UK, has written to almost 400 council chiefs urging them to do more to support their local high streets or risk ...

Solar Panels Subsidy Was The Most Ridiculous Green Scheme Deramed Up
A plan to subsidise solar panels on homes was “one of the most ridiculous schemes ever dreamed up”, a Government minister has said.
Lord Marland, an Energy minister, hit out at the cost of so-called feed-in tariffs, which the Government has axed as part of the cuts programme. Last week Court of Appeal ruled that the sudden axing of the tariffs ...

Goodbye Great Britain
Recently, there have been two powerful challenges to the conventional wisdom about the United States. First, Robert Kagan published a lengthy essay in The New Republic, arguing that predictions of America's decline as a global power are woefully premature. .Is it possible, I found myself wondering, to do something similar for Britain? Robert Colvile has a go in this Daily Telegraph article ...

Our rising debt levels are becoming unsustainable – soon we may be talking about wealth confiscation (By Daniel Knowles, Daily Telegraph)
Debt, debt, debt; we’re drowning in it. This morning, the Office for National Statistics published the latest estimates of public sector borrowing. Though borrowing is falling faster than anticipated, thanks to the fact that spending cuts are finally beginning to kick in, the national debt has risen to 64.2 per cent of GDP. More significantly,…

The Obama administration knifes Britain in the back again over the Falklands - By Nile Gardiner World
In yet another display of disdain for the Anglo-American Special Relationship, the Obama administration has weighed in on the mounting tensions between Great Britain and Argentina over the Falkland Islands. Just two days after Prime Minister David Cameron issued a robust statement in the House of Commons vowing to defend the sovereignty of the Falklands,…

Drones In The Hands Of The Paparrazi - It's an ethical minefield
America's use of drones for targeted killings is serious enough. But commercial and law enforcement uses are on the horizon. Whether you view them as model aeroplanes for grown-ups or the handmaidens of the killer robot, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, are taking off in earnest. ...

The Observer uncritically regurgitates Trotskyist smears against Katharine Birbalsingh- By Toby Young, Daily Telegraph
There’s a disgraceful attempt to smear Katharine Birbalsingh in this morning’s Observer. Under the headline “Katharine Birbalsingh criticised over ‘wasteful’ free school project“, the paper’s policy editor Daniel Boffey tries to create the impression that there’s growing local opposition to the Michaela Community School – Birbalsingh’s free school – which is due to open in…

We’re being sent the bill for the euro crisis again – this time by the IMF - By Daniel Hannan First it was individual banks; then whole industries; then entire countries; now it’s the world. Western leaders have reacted to the failure of each bailout by decreeing a bigger one. Unable to admit their mistake, slaves to the defunct economist whose thinking dominates our economics faculties and central banks, they act like so many Nick Leesons,…

As Obama Positions Himself For A War In Syria We Learn That Like Gadaffi, Assad Is Popular With His People
Most Syrians back President Assad, but you'd never know from western mediaAssad's popularity, Arab League observers, US military involvement: all distorted in the west's propaganda war. Suppose a respectable opinion poll found that most Syrians are in favour of Bashar al-Assad remaining as president, would that not be major news? Bullshit Sherlock
While other blogs are full of how great the cliff - faller ending of Sherlock Holmes was I felt a bit let down. The fake suicide was telegraphed all through the show. And the coda assured us Sherlock had survived. We should not forget of course it was the habit of ...

Will bringing back grammar schools boost social mobility? by Toby Young Daily Telegraph
The possibility that England may shortly see its first new grammar school in over 50 years has, predictably enough, re-opened the debate about selective education. Yesterday, for instance, Allison Pearson came down firmly in favour, while Fiona Millar shot back with an instant rebuttal. I’ll get into that argument in a moment, but first let’s be…

So Why Read Books Anymore
There is great “truth and beauty” in Homer’s Iliad, but I would not try to make his sale on such platitudes. Gibbon’s The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire remains a classic. But I confess it can be hard to get through. Conrad’s Victory or Knut Hamsun’s Growth of the Soil, if authored by writer X this year, would be trashed on Amazon. So what are the reasons, in this age of ...

Eric Holder and the Chicago Way In America Obama's Brownshirts are getting hysterical as they try to make race the major issue in the election campaign.

Dystopian Prophecies Are Coming True - The Government Will Soon Choose Our Wives
Thinking of this entertaining new literary award – “the Hatchet Job of the Year” – it was natural to turn to Macaulay’s Essays, for few reviewers have ever been less reluctant to wound. I had in mind two long review-essays, one on Robert Montgomery’s Poems, the other on The State in its relations with ...
