Joe the plumber A> It is strange, is it not, hoe though Joe (or Sam as he's really named) was selected at random by barak Obama who was gladhanding people at random while doing a walkabout on the campaign trail.
When Mr. Obama did his routine trivk of trying to get the plumber to kiss The Obama's scrawny arse in sheer gratitude at being so blessed, Sam responded by asking a difficult question. The Obamessiah's Fast Action Response Team leaped into action, throwing up, as is their wont, all sorts of smears about Joe's private life.
What a pity we are not permitted such insights into Mr. Obama's private life, for example why will he not produce a copy of his birth certificate to prove he was born in Hawaii and not Kenya as the overwhelming body of evidence suggests. Why will he not admit that for much of his adult life he presented himself as a Muslim, even stating his religion as Muslim on his enrollment form for Chicago law school, and why he not tell us what exactly his work as a "community organiser" for ACORN involved.
Better still, as this individual wants to be the most powerful man in the world, aren't we entitled to some answers about his association with the genocidist Kenyan politician Ralia Odinga. And what favours does he owe the genocidist government of Indonesia for destroying the evidence of his Indonesian citizenship.

McCain Obama debate election
Differing opinions of the Presidential Candidates debate, the Obama camp rroclaiming him the overwhelming victor because he is the anointed one who can walk on water and whose farts smell of perfume while The Republicans claim Obama waffled, evades issues and took refuge in vague talk of change, dreams, visions and the credibility he thinks can be gained using big words he obviously does not really understand. If McCain is elected America is only in as much trouble as it is in now. If Obama id elected the nation he will lead are fucked up beyond all redemption
What you haven't read about Obama
Which way will Joe Go
Despite the mauling he had from the Obama campaign, Joe the Plumber has not revealed which way his vote will go, insisting he has not yet made up his mind. Strikes me that in common with millions of others we might guess are natural republicans, Joe is playing it close to his chest.
Don't make the mistake of believing the polls, the most interesting statistic to emerge is not being published. That is the unusually high number of people, all registered voters, who are refusing to take part.

Build our way out of depression, Democrats say
Well it worked in the 1930s so it must be the right thing to do now. Somehow, every instinct told me we could rely on Mr Obama and his stupid sidekicks who habitually peddle platitudes and cliches (when they're not making up fairy stories about Obama's past) to come up with a plan that is unoriginal, impractial and totally irrelevant. Ah but that is no problem to Obama's supporters. They know his farts smell of perfume so that makes everything OK. They do have some good ideas in some parts of America, but Nebraska is solid republican country
Banking Crisis - will nationalisation work
After all these years of saying Thatcherism and the free markey lunacy would end in a financial collapse it's nice to be vindicated at last. Margaret Thatcher swore she would never print money to buy our way out of a financial crisis. Unfortunately letting the banks conjure itout of this air created an even less substantial economy than those based on paper money. Magic Money was a clever illusion but in the end it was all done with smoke and mirrors.
Hotdog economics
When the Nobel Prize committee awarded a prize for economics this year they might well have been having a laugh. We have to take the award at face value though and make a comment. If anybody still thinks academic theories and mathematical modelling have any relevance in the real world they are mad as a box of frogs. Like the NuLab thinkers who still talk of having made great strides towards abolishing child poverty when they have dome more than anybosdy to increase parent poverty.

Recycling: is it a waste of time?
its easy to see why Tim Worstall thinks so when we find that recycled products actually use more resources to remanufacture than it would take to make new. We worry that the penalties for not complying with the bureaucratic and authoritarian regulations on recycling can bring down draconian penalites on those who do not conform. The townhall pokenoses have a long track record of eforcing most enthusiastically the most pointless regulations.

Economists - Kill Them
Like most sciences, economics simply cannot cope with the unscientific qualities of human nature. So if economic modelling does not work so why are we asking economists to help us fix the market meltdown? So naturally, amid much wailing and gnashing of teeth the excuses and accusations of racism have started already. But the party and the Black community have only themselves to blame. See for yourself Barak Obama's fake birth certificate, read the reasoning of this blogger, think about the "Father's race" given as "African." Well if genuine the document, written out in 1960 would not have given the race as African as Negro was the legally accepted term for a black man then. That aside, it is strange is it not that the document refers to "race" and not nationality. Obama Snr. would have given his nationality as Kenyan or British Colonial, Kenya still being part of the British Empire then.

In the American election the Democrats constantly accuse the Republicans of mud slinging and dirty politics (see article linked) but the Dems are not whiter than white themselves. Why Obama should rage against the dying of the light
Obama needs to show some fire and passion if he is to stop the rot argues Anrianna Huffngton. it's too late for that, Obama has been sussed out as an elitist and a windbag, all mouth no trousers as we say in my part of the world.
At last the PC commentators are getting real - Obama's race will be an issue if not the issue in the US elections. Now the conventions are over and the candidates are on the final lap, so to speak, to the finish line on Nov4, the campaigning will get dirty as is traditional. Most of us in Britain wanted to see a Democrat in The White House after the disastrous Bush era, but questioned the choice of the untested and inexperienced Barak Obama, an effete intellectual elitist who could never appeal to the working class vote the Democrats needed to win. This final stretch of the campaign ought to be a test of Obama's mettle, but his mettle has already been revealed to be an alloy containing much that shines brightly but tarnishes quickly and far too little steel. Now to maintain the illusion they have a chance of winning the Democrats maintain that race will not be an issue.
Sadly the ineptitude of their campaign has ensured race will be the major issue. And there are millions of voters in middle America who in a normal election would not cross the room to vote for John McCain but will be willing to wade a mile through raw sewage to vote against barak Obama.
Sarah Palin - A Trojan moose
Still on the US election this shows that while Bacak Obama's campaign shows ham - fisted incompetence in matters of politics when political skills are needed to back up the quasi-religious posturing of the candidate, the selection of inexperiences, untested and seriously loopy Sarah Palin by the Republicans is a masterstroke. Not only does Palin appeal to regular Americans as Obama never can ,any attacks on her will be seen by those regular Americans as attacks on one of their own by an elitist liberal intellectual.
For a change of tone read this Boggart Blog satire on the attacks aimed at Palin.
Collisionsns large or small - large hadron collider
It is interesting to see the different attitudes on the science is God cult and the ordinary punters to CERN's Large Hadron Collider. While the science worshippers berate the masses for "believing nonsense" about the experiment's potential to destroy the earth, the whimsical majority who were never really worried at all are finding the whole business a grand excuse to take the piss out of scientists.
The problem with theoretical science is it is - well - theoretical. While scientists rant about the stupidity of people who believe in God, magic, The Soup Dragon etc. they do not see the stupidity of spending £billions of taxpayers money, not to mention most of their sad, dysfuntional little lives trying to prove that an equation based on a false premise can actually reveal the secrets of the Universe.
Slave to the system -are we getting too reliant on technology?
While we are with the scientific, is it time we stopped and examined our increasing dependence on technology. Given that machines are not alive and the "thinking machine" is a scientists pipe dream (even though they have wet dreams contemplating such a device,) it it time we, the unthinking masses according to followers of the Science is God cult, stepped back from the idea constantly being pushed at us by the Great Conspiracy that we are better off letting machines do the thinking for us and reasserted our right to think for ourselves?

When Barak's Berserkers Lost The Plot

Obama's quasi-religious, elitist style does not resonate with the undecided voters of middle America though.

Have Faith In Education
While the Greenteeth crew are a bunch of Godless heathens it was attending schools that featured Religious Education in the syllabus that made us that way. So after reading so many bad-tempered, ill-informed and irrational anti-religion rants from scientists in comment threads we are happy to link to this balanced and well argued plea for the inclusion of a broad introduction to the belief systems of the major faiths in the National Curriculum. After all, if the collective insanity of scientists is the biggest factor in turning pupils away from science, surely we have a duty to offer an alternative world view.
Blinding Us With Science
The Large Hadron Collider at CERN is due to be switched on by nuclear physicists in a few days. There is a possibility this will create a Black Hole that will expand and swalow the Universe. A group of sceptical (or just envious) scientists are trying through legal action to get the project stopped. The CERN boys have no idea what the consequences of their experiment will be, claim their critics. Are scientists out of control - and if their experiment goes out of control is it all over for Life, The Universe And Everything?

Obama it seems has never satisfactorily proved he is qualified to run for President in the American election. Apparently he can't make up his mind whether he wants to be American, Kenyan or Indonesian. Interesting....
For Obama, race is not over
American Democrats are deluding themselves if they think race will not have a big influence on the way many people vote in the Presidential Election. While people are willing to overlook any political, or intellectual shortcomings or even the difficulty both candidates have in understanding the concept of truth, they cannot help but focus on Obama's colour.
A popular history of history
Popular history writing lacks academic rigour complains this academic. Boggart Blog's Ian Thorpe replies that academics are too emotionally attached to the agenta set by the religious and political establishments to tell it like it is.
Foreigners make The best Food says The Guardian's Michelle Hanson. That's fighting talk where the Boggart Bloggers come from as the Greenteeth Multi Media Food Menu will quickly prove to visitors.
Democrat Pundit Predicts Obama Will Lose
Don't get me wrong, I'm no more fond of America's Republicans than any European Socialist. That's why I was horrified when the Democrats tied themselves to to candidates who whould fight the election with their hands tied. Then I was even more horrified when Political Correctness prompted them to pick the effete novice with zero personality,no political base and no experience, nothing to offer in fact except a speech about hopes dreams and visions. Words like LOSER - LOSER - LOSER came to mind.
The People Who Will Decide The US Election
Excellent humour from the Onion defines thev 430 new demographics that will decide the U.S. election.
Would you have guessed that Obama leads by 99% among gay Dads while among wooodwork business owning brothers McCain leads by 81%?
And while we are doing video here's one on The Obamessiah from The Nose On Your Face, a right leaning and very funny U.S. site.
Why Obama Will Lose
At last a Democrat supporting commentator who has factored in the race effect instead of pretending America is a Politically Correct paradise where race is not an issue.
Saddleback Watershed Moment
In a debate on the abortion issue with John McCain in front of an audience of Evangelical Christians McCain answered the questions put to him while Obama talked about "change" and the "new democrats" creating a "new America." All very reminiscent of Tony Blair's New Labour, New Britain.
Should We Abandon Britain's Crumbling Coast
A new report from oceanographers seems to expose the Tory thinktank that recommended we should abandon the "failing north" as opportunists hoping to snap up abandoned properties as people flee the sinking south.

Politics Intrudes On Our Olympic Reverie
Much kerfuffle about fakery at the Olympic Games, lip-synching singers, lead-gilt gold medals, women with bollocks and beards. But is it not typical of what has been going on in the west for years?
Small and Beautiful Georgian What? As the Russian occupation of tiny Georgia continues western politicians queue to condemn the aggression. But are any of them really qualified to comment on the Caucasian state?
Gymnastics Ain't What it Used To Be Evrything is dumbing down it seems, even the commentaries on sports at the Olympic games

The Trashiest Tabloid
Barak Obama and his supporters are whining again. Will they ever understand that having nasty, hurtful and untrue things said about one are part of the political game.
The Prince and the Pauper
Is PrinceCharles showing he is a wooly brained, inbred bufoon who is totally out of touch with reality when he criticises GM crops. Or does he have a point and the scientists are again demonstrating their inability to see what's staring them in the fucking face when they turn on him. Emily Hill argues the case for science in the main article. In the comment linked here
Ian Thorpe explains the ecomonics of GM crops and demolishes it.
For Freedom's Sake We Must Stop Libel Tourism
Britain's libel laws are archaic and oppressive. Designed to protect the rich and powerful from criticism they are now being used in the global cybervillage created by the internet to stifle justified criticism by those whose activities are most in need of public examination.
The Blue Collar Myth
Will Obama's team of meritocrats manage to shake off the elitist tag or will they become identified with that humourless, self-important corporate clas that spawned the campaign and lose the election because everybody hates smug arseholes. If the campaign team don't heed the message the blue collar appeal factor will decide the election, race not be the only issue Obama has to worry about. It is not The Blue Collar Myth that will bring down Barak Obama but the
invincibility myth Obama and his supporters have spun around him.
