Climate Change: Little White Lies and Big Brown Lies

The Copenhagen summit conference on climate change was never about climate change. It was about money, power, control and the need to divert attention from the failure of globalization. Pity the science used to back up the case for action was so easily exposed as fraudulent. Read more...

It's all over bar the shouting in Copenhagen. Nothing has been achieved that we were promised would be achieved. Realistically there was never any chance of progress on controlling climate change or alleviating its effects on the planet. The one good thing to come out of it is most of the "climate change science" on which the case for the crooked carbon trading system devised by Al Gore and Ken Lay, former CEO of Enron, was exposed as bogus and fraudulent. Ken Ley, for those who do not follow business news was the man behind one of the biggest corporate frauds ever. The science in this case responsible for making the case that climate change was "anthropogenic" or man made, the result entirely of human activity since the beginning of the industrial revolution was an example of that well known scientific technique known as fudging the data until it provides the answer the man with the money wanted.

The lies remain however. It is the lies and the loss of trust between the public and the financial institutions, political organisations and the academic community that will in the long run do far more damage that climate change is ever likely to.

Politicians tell lies; its not big news, just part of what politics is about. We all tell lies. “I had to work late darling,” “It was a bargain, reduced in the sale,” “the cheque is in the post,” “of course I love you,” “no your bum doesn't’ look big in it, its perfect.” Little white lies intended to keep us out of trouble or spare peoples’ feelings. Politicians little white lies can turn into big purple lies though. “I did not have sex with that woman,”

Now there is a new colour of lie, big Brown lies. A big Brown lie is about promising one thing and doing the opposite. And then denying there is a contradiction.

“We must reduce carbon emissions by 50% over the next thirty years.”
“If Heathrow Airport in not expanded British businesses will not be able to compete.”

No contradiction there of course, a new generation of emission free jets could be just around the corner.

The UK is better placed to rde out the recession than other developed nations.
The record Public Sector Borrowing Requirement is not our fault.

“This government will put the welfare of workers foremost.”
“We must relieve business of the burden of health and safety restrictions.”

"We must reduce NHS costs.
"You all, each and every one of you, have to have expensive "swine flu" vaccinations to protect against a disease invented by vaccine manufacturers that will kill millions if you do not obey...obey...obey.

“To enjoy the benefits of citizenship people must accept the responsibilities that go with it.”
“We must not drive away the wealth creators with heavy taxes.”

OK, so if someone is rich enough to qualify for non-domiciled status, tax is voluntary. Yeah, right, we get it.

Then there was the loony plan to force the return to the workplace of severely disabled people like me and bendygirl, author of the excellent “benefit scrounging scum” blog (guaranteed to attract Daily Mail Readers and give them a glimpse of what it is like to be disabled in the bureaucratic dictatorship that is 21st century Britain.)

The draft of this plan proposes people who can walk two hundred yards or get around in a wheelchair and can use a computer can hold down a job. Well I can walk two hundred yards. Then not so far the next time. Then the third time my brain starts to shut down. Its not a stereotypical after effect of strokes, but people who have had strokes tend to differ so widely. I would love to be able to work but were I to do so my quality of life would disappear. Still I would be a productive economic unit.

The latest in a long series of Big Brown Lies has been the fear and panic over climate change. Think back to how the case was made for the Copenhagen Climate Summit being humankinds last chance to save the planet. There was a lot of fear and panic spread about how the ecosphere would collapse if we did not listen to the politicians, businessmen who aim to profit from catastrophe capitalism and their hireling scientists who equations can be rigged to support any case required.

So in this atmosphere of living in a place totally removed from reality the politicians surveyed the wreckage of their beloved globalisation project and decided they needed some climate change science to spread fear and panic and help them divert attention from their failure and incompetence.

So off trooped the world leaders for a big, expensive jolly in Copenhagen, ostensibly to find a way of dealing with the threats posed by climate chance but really to work out a way of developing a system of global financial governance and implementing new carbon and environment taxes to pay for the insane levels of government spending that have been incurred in transferring the provision of public services from direct labour departments to outsourcing through private companies.

In other words the whole Copenhagen climate change jamboree was a giant stitch up. We hear about taxes on fuel for our cars and domestic heating but none on aircraft fuels, nothing must impede the ability of the rich to fly round the world on a whim.

The Prime Minister does not care about fairness or justice, only about getting reelected. So in the future, even though Brown has been voted out of office, you can expect the big Brown lies and their consequences to affect your daily life.

Rare Earth Mine Reopens - Triumph For Common Sense.Politicians and the science community rave about how carbon is destroying the planet. But what's the truth about how clean green energy will be. Rare earth metals used in digital devices, electric car batteries, wind turbines and many other processes that are being promoted as necessary to restart the global economy. Mining and refining the ores is a huge pollutant but new mining licences are being granted ever so quietly.
How Our Creature Comforts Are Baking The World
As the arguments rage on between the Climate Science Wankers lobby and the sceptis, realists and out and out deniers we observe that still nobody who gets media coverage, nobody who is talking sense about climate chaos, carbon based fuels, deforestation or over population is really being heard. Quite simply there are too many of us and we want too much. Who needs science or politics to understand that?

The Persecution Of Johnny Ball and The Intolerance Of WarmageddonistsVeteran TV presenter Johnny Ball, whose programmes on science and mathematics enthused many young viewers in a way formal education never can, probably did not realise he was stepping into a lion's den when he voiced his opinion that the mathematics on which the carbon driven global warming case rests are very dodgy. The Climate Science Warmageddonists turned their fury on him as they have on all who challenge the teachings of their doomday cult.
Cancun Climate Conference Will Ignore Big QuestionsThis years international conferrence on climate change is taking place in Cancun, Mexico this week. Will it be any more successful that last years fiasco in Copenhagen? Unlikely unless the politicians grpw some balls, kill the scientists, sideline the limp wristed politically correct wimp Obama and face up to the read causes of climate problems which all come back to one thing, TOO MANY PEOPLE.

Climate Scientists And The Honesty Question As the world's media turns its attention to the latest shenanigans of world leaders and climate scientists in Cancun, Mexico, The Daily Stirrer's Ian R Thorpe invites us to look at the basic homesty of the carbon trading industry. In the run up to Cancun there has been a flurry of activity in the climate science community, including contributions from those discredited crooks and liars the University of East Anglia Climate Research Unit trying to push the old line that people who see through the climate science scam "are not scientists and therefore cannot understand the science. Should we take any notice of people who have demonstrated they have serious integrity issues...
Leading Sceptic's Climate Change U Turn? When one of the world's best known climate change deniers starts talking about how we can deal with climate related problems you might expect the climate scienceology cultists to be cheering. They are remarkably quiet however about Bjorn Lomborg's new book because it reveals he has never been a climate change denier as he was dubbed but was merely questioning the shaky science on which the carbon driven AGW case was based ...
Climate Change: Green Energy Meltdown .As the climate science fraud and the case it made that carbon emissions were the sole cause of global warming and carbon taxes, trading in carbon allowances green energy technologies that belonged in science fiction novels were the way to power the future and save the planet comes unravelled: as the great green energy experiments of Denmark and Spain leave those nations shivering in the dark as power supplies fail and subsidies to green generators bankrupt national economies we look at the real state of the climate crisis.
The Rising Seas Are Not Down To Global Warming Alone.Rising Seas Not Down To Global Warming A new study shows that global warming is not the only cause of swelling seas. Much comes from "water mining" – the pumping of vast amounts of groundwater from beneath the earth, mainly to irrigate crops. This inevitably ends up in the oceans after it evaporates from farmland and comes down as rain.
The study which will be published in the next issue issue of Geophysics Research Letters – estimates that extraction of ground water for domestic and industrial use accounts for about 25% of sea-level rise around the world, the same as the melting ice from the glaciers outside Greenland and Antarctica.

Vertical Farming: The Looniest Idea Yet For Saving The PlanetClimate Science is a strange discipline. Part trainspotting, part trekkie convention going, it combines an almost autistic obession with collcting details, a very autistic obsession with focusing on a single theme and a fantasist's capacity for self deception and a taste for mutual masturbation. The latest loonytoons idea for saving the planet involves turning skyscraper buildings into farms growing food for urban populations. Apart from increasing the cost of food by 1000% and increasing rather than reducing the carbon footprint of food production the idea is so insane noboy could ever take it seriously. Nobody that is except scientists, politicians, academics and the media.

Climate Change Crooks And LiarsThough climate change alarmists claim that that "the science is settled" no longerr holds water the arguments rage on. If anything they are getting more heated as the climate science lobby, knocked from the moral high grounds show their true colours. But more and more evidence is showing the climate change science was never settyled and the global warming Armageddonists had built their whole case on very flimsy evidence.
Climate Science Debunked By Science Superstar Max Planck.
One of the lies most often repeated by the Climate Science lobby is that 'the science stands' i.e. that no fault was found in the scientific work of the CRU. This is both true and a lie, true in that no fault was found, a lie because the reason no fault was found is that to examine the scientific work was outside the Russell panel's terms of reference. This report features the Max Planck Institute's take on climate science and the IPCC.

One Decent Jobs Report Does Not Make A Recovery
There are two reasons why President Obama rushed to the microphone on Friday shortly after the government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released relatively good news (by recent standards) that the unemployment rate dropped to 8.3% in January, while the economy added 243,000 seasonally adjusted jobs. ...

Let's Learn From Libya Before We Get Involved In Syria

This time last year the clamour for a military intervention in Libya was gaining ground as forces loyal to Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi threatened to overrun the eastern city of Benghazi ...

India Disses UK Aid: 'More Importasnt To Donors Than Recipients'.
Congratulations to Rahul Bedi for putting into words what we all half-suspected: India neither needs nor wants UK aid. Such grants are outdated and patronising, he says, and encourage corruption. Indeed, Indians have ‘become so contemptuous of Britain’s contribution that they accept it merely to avoid causing the embarrassment’.

London Atheist And Secularist Societies Under Attack From Islamists
I know on occasions in the past I've asked you, dear readers and fellow bloggers to share something widely that needed wider exposure. Unemployment at 8.3% Still Leaves A Vast And Destructive Jobs Deficit Robert Reich, The Guardian
The most significant aspect of January's jobs report is political. The fact that America's labor market continues to improve is good news for the White House. But as a practical matter, the improvement is less significant for the American workforce.
President Obama's only chance for rebutting Republican claims that he's responsible for a bad economy is to point to a positive trend. Voters respond to economic trends as much as ...

Much Media Ado About Nothing What connects seemingly disparate works such as The Silence of the Lambs, Cape Fear, Mad Men, and Seinfeld? It is the philosophy of nihilism, first popularized by Friedrich Nietzsche in the late 19th century. But in the last few decades, how did it become the dominant worldview of Hollywood? Dawn Of The Ice Age Signals The End Of The Global Warming Scam Back then, the media and activists trumpeted the arrival of a new ice age, with the specter of ice sheets and glaciers covering half the northern hemisphere, and brutal winters in the remaining ice-free zones. The fact that the media and popular culture and academia have veered from one panic-inducing disaster scenario to another one which completely contradicts the first one is funny enough in its own right. But reading The Weather Conspiracy: The Coming of the New Ice Age opened my eyes to an even more significant aspect ...

Our rising debt levels are becoming unsustainable – soon we may be talking about wealth confiscation (By Daniel Knowles, Daily Telegraph)
Debt, debt, debt; we’re drowning in it. This morning, the Office for National Statistics published the latest estimates of public sector borrowing.
