No Jobs For The Masses In The New Economy Despite University Education
No matter how leaders like David Cameron and Barack Obama try to talk up their economies or assure voters the jobs market is improving, growth returning and unemployment will soon start falling, the truth is change does not equal progress and forcing the pace of social change has only masked the true depth of economic and social problems. One of these is unemployment and particularly joblessness among the young. Even a universdity education does not provide a guaranteed career path ... Education

Unemployment at 8.3% Still Leaves A Vast And Destructive Jobs Deficit Robert Reich, The Guardian
The most significant aspect of January's jobs report is political. The fact that America's labor market continues to improve is good news for the White House. But as a practical matter, the improvement is less significant for the American workforce.

Much Media Ado About Nothing What connects seemingly disparate works such as The Silence of the Lambs, Cape Fear, Mad Men, and Seinfeld? It is the philosophy of nihilism, first popularized by Friedrich Nietzsche in the late 19th century. But in the last few decades, how did it become the dominant worldview of Hollywood? Dawn Of The Ice Age Signals The End Of The Global Warming Scam Back then, the media and activists trumpeted the arrival of a new ice age, with the specter of ice sheets and glaciers covering half the northern hemisphere, and brutal winters in the remaining ice-free zones. The fact that the media and popular culture and academia have veered from one panic-inducing disaster scenario to another one which completely contradicts the first one is funny enough in its own right. But reading The Weather Conspiracy: The Coming of the New Ice Age opened my eyes to an even more significant aspect ...

Our rising debt levels are becoming unsustainable – soon we may be talking about wealth confiscation (By Daniel Knowles, Daily Telegraph)
Debt, debt, debt; we’re drowning in it. This morning, the Office for National Statistics published the latest estimates of public sector borrowing. Though borrowing is falling faster than anticipated, thanks to the fact that spending cuts are finally beginning to kick in, the national debt has risen to 64.2 per cent of GDP. More significantly,…

The Observer uncritically regurgitates Trotskyist smears against Katharine Birbalsingh- By Toby Young, Daily Telegraph

The possibility that England may shortly see its first new grammar school in over 50 years has, predictably enough, re-opened the debate about selective education. Former Chief Scientist Condemns Green Scaremongering

It is becoming more and more clear all the time that nobody trusts scientists or any longer believes a word they say. Statements like that are bound to infuriate those scientists and fans of science who increasingly behave as if science is a religion. The fact is however that science, derived from the Latin word "scienta - to know" is about knowledge and the more hysterical the science lobby gets in trying to shout down those who question their irrational theories and wild assumptions the more clear it becomes that they know little and can ...

Its Official - All Statitics Are Lies
By Ed Butt

We were gobsmacked in the office to read this morning that the United States economy had come out of recession. You only need to look back a few days to our post Systemic Dishonesty to see what The Daily Stirrer thinks of all this empty talk for recoverery and growth. In the case of the United States however, a country whose insane and amateurish Presiudent seems intent on destroying the national economy the idea of coming out of recession is more of a joke than anywhere else.

With unemployment rising and tax revenues in freefall, consumer spending dead as people struggle to pay off debts while interest rates are low and the world increasingly unwilling to buy US Federal debt what is going on?

The truth is the US phoney recovery has been funded by the Obama administration printing monopoly money and offering huge handouts to failing industries and to "community organising groups" i.e. ethnic minority, gay rights and socialist organisations that make no contribution to the economy whatsoever.

Let's hope our equally woolly brained government does not try to go down this track because the truth is our economy is even more fucked than the American economic disaster zone.

28 October 2009 Vaclav Klaus For Prime Minister Last week it semed the ratification of the Lisbon Treaty, which will transfer a lo of sovereign rights away from the democratically elected governments of member states in the EU to unelected bureaucrats, was a done deal. Only Vaclav Klaus, the President of the Czech Republic was holding out against the treaty which must be ratified by all 27 member nations.

You may remember that the only nation allowed to vote on this vital constitutional issue, Ireland, held a referendum in which this blatant move towards the creation of a Federal European Superstate was soundly rejected. In a display of the utter cntempt in which they hold democrcy and the voters they would exercise total power over the unelected bureaucrats told the Irish government the result of the democratic vote was unacceptable and another referendum would have to be held... and another and if necessary another until the Euro rats were given the answer they wanted.
After the Irish, in a mood of grim resignaion voted yes in a second referendum it seemed the obdurate Mr. Klaus was on the verse of caving in under immense pressure from the unelected leaders of the EU providede his country could e granted an opt out from sevral clauses in the treaty that might threaten their future independence.

It seemed some kind of compromise would be agreed. At the eleventh hour however it seems the resistance of the Czech President has awanked others small nations to the threat the treaty poses to their independence and right of self determination. Other nations are demanding opt outs from clauses they feel are disadvantageous to them. The whole think may be on the brink of falling apart.

If this is a victory for freedom and independence over the forces of the dark side let's not be too polite to put the boot in while the bastards are down.

Legislating Against People Thinking For Themselves
We have written here on many aspects of the Brave New Workd being created by Nanny State and her cohorts in the Politically Correct Thought Police collaborating with big food and big pharma. Proposals for compulsory vaccination have been highlighted, plans for increased surveillance have been exposed as control freakery rather than acting in the public interest, basically The Daily Stirrer is on the side of freedom of speech, action and thought against the dark forces of The New World Order.

Now we have another thing that will convince you those who claim they are acting in your interests aren't. The mass medication of your daily bread:
Folic Acid in Flour

Yes, though most of the goodness of whole grains is lost in the modern milling process the government is proposing to replace it with manufactured supplements. As usual we urge you to ask, Cui Bono? Who benefits?

Not we punters certainly, we must pay for the milling and processing that takes natural nutrients out of the flour then pay for the artificial additives that replace them.

Sick Of Nick, Sicker Of Pete

I tried not to write anything about BNP leader Nick Griffin on Question Time, my position has been made clear many times before.I do not agree with BNP policies but feel we are straying onto very dangerous ground if we start banning elected representatives from appearing on certain television shows because certain people dislike their views. And it is out of order Peter Mandelson a leading Member of Labour, the party which makes much of its democratic priniciples, to demand that Griffin be excluded from the BBC forum. Having said that, I did not watch Question Time this week not because of the controversy but because I have not watched the programme for over ten years.

Where Angels Fear To Tread

For years I have been a campaigner for action on climate change. As the cause was progressively hijacked by scientists however I have become more and more suspicious of their quick fix theories which may probably land us in a bigger mess than we are in now but will certainly make $billions for the Corporations that fund the scientific research. As Nathan Givens says in the above article however, and as with the arguments about mass vaccination, the "scientific case" takes on a religious tone and anyone who dares question the god of scientce is attacked by a rabid mob. Does Talking To A Latvian Nationalist Make You A Jew Killer?

As the Labour Party become increasingly become increasingly desperate to hold on to power by any means so the tactics to which they are prepared to stoop become dirtier and sleazier. The Eurosceptic Conservatives led by David Cameron have decided to support a group opposed to the notion of a European supertate or to any further transfer of national sovereignty to the cabal of unelected bureaucrats that really runs Europe. That is honest of them if a tad expedient as they are wellaware of how deeply suspicious of Europe most British voters are. In the European Parliamentary group with which the Conservtive MEPs now sit are a small number of East European nationalists with some views that are farly shocking to British ears. These people are fairly cool about Nazi Germany and the Holocaust and rank the crimes of Stalinist Russia against their own nations as a crime against humanity equal to the extermination of Jews.

It is not a view I would agree with but what do I know of Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Hungary and The Czech Republic?

And what does Labour Foreign Secretary David Milliband know, because he has lost the plot completely and conflated the Conservatives choice of European Parliamentary Associates with approval of the Holocaust.

How typical of a member of the Labout Thought Police hierarchy to be completely unable to understand that people in those nations that suffered oppression by the forces of Stalinist Russia might just, at a pinch, have a different perspective on the events of 1939 - 45 than the people of our West European democracies.

United States of America Bankrupt - You Read It Here First

The United States, the country formerly know as "the world's most powerful nation" is bankrupt.

It will be a long time before the Obama controlled US Mainstream Media reports this but the blogosphere and online news organisations are on the case (WND report) which is nice to know.

The US budget deficit is more than four times the official estimate, over $5trillion. All this must be funded by borrowing. The way nations borrow money is by issuing bonds on which they pay a fixed interest rate over a certain term. For many years the tiger economies of the Pacific Rim have been buying up US Treasury Bonds to the extent that China and India how have such enormous dollar reverves they can manipulate the US Government. Other buyers of US Bonds include Japan, Singapore, Malysia and the autonomous Chinese territory of Hong Kong.

All these nations are getting very cautious about increasing their dollar holdings for many reasons not least of which is the insane spending plans of Barack Obama's Administration of Amateurs.

When a nation cannot sell its bonds on the international markets it can only meet its debts by buying its own bonds or effectively printing money. The United States of America, with its economy contracting and tax revenues in freefall is printing money fast enough to cause a global paper shortage. It is this policy that is causing the slide in the dollar exchange rate against other currencies traded in the world markets. More alarming for American businesses and shoppers though is the leap in commodity prices the dollar crisis has brought about. Life is going to get expensive for Americans and by extension for us all because American consumption has driven the global economy for several decades

Last month The Daily Stirrer reported on the true state of the US Economy. Remember you read it here first.

Climate Change Sacred Cow

When I heard Gordon Brown giving a speech on climate change and the summit in Copenhagen which is ostensibly where the world leaders will sign a treaty that will solve all the climate related problems like Neville Chamberlain's treaty guaranteed "peace in our time" in 1939 I did not know whether to shit or go blind laugh or be angry. While Brown's blind faith in science and his delusional belief that politicians dining on fine food and vintage wines are capable of even understanding let alone solving the problem are touching they are also infantile.

Some of us are just born sceptics I guess. I keep hearing this phrase Climate Change Deniers thrown at anybody who questions the "climate change science." Only a few people on the baby eating fringe of the rabid right are actually denying climate change is something big going on in our world right now. What is happening in the debate over what we should do about it is as usual "science" is being turned into a sacred cow and anyone who asks intelligent questions is automatically branded a climate change denier.

The fact is all these schemes for seeding clouds, spraying reflective particles in the upper atmosphere and tinkng with oceanic ecology are entirely untested, cannot possibly be tested and which could have catastrophic consequences if they don't work as expected.

Also it is way too late for scientific tinkering to help. The arctic permafrost is thawing. All we can do is batten down the hatches and brace ourselves.

Course if 40 years ago the scientists had sat around stroking their chins and saying "hmmm, well a lot more study is needed before we can form any conclusions," we might not be in such desperate straits now.

My experience of having anyone on my project team who described himself as a scientist is they would always deliver late if at all, always be way over budget and usually had done something incredibly clever which did not actually adress the problem they were supposed to be solving.

Ask a scientist any question and the answer will always be 42.

We need to be working on wave, marine current and run of river generation schemes, water distribution systems, crops that can tolerate extreme weather, mass transport systems for when petrol is £10 a gallon, sea defences, practical stuff like that. All the technologies exist so why involve scientists?

The First Flu Vaccine Brain Damage Case
Now I am not against vaccines per se. I always state this quite clearly and yet the pro vaccine lobby always accuse me of being a medievalist, a religious fundamentalist (I'm actually an atheist) or someone who is bitter and twisted because the medical profession failed me. Again, in reality I am very lucky to be alive and have good reason to be grateful to many medical professionals for the fact that I am here. Some of the people I am grateful to however had to stick their necks out for me to stop policies approved by the governing bodies of medicine being used to apply stereotypes and one size fits all solutions to the very individual problems faced by stroke survivors and curtail my recovery. "The science says you must be in a near vegetative state and so you will not be helped to recover beyond that," the official attitude seemed to say.

"Well fuck them," I though and managed my own recovery. That in my experience is the attitude of Big Pharma and Big Healthcare to their customers however. You will not question, you will not think, you will conform and do as you are told. It is an attitude supported by the wretchedly incompetent Labour government in Britain and the equally inept and authoritarian Obama administration in the USA. There was even talk through the summer of creating a criminal offence to prosecute people who refused the under-developed and deeply suspect Swine Flu vaccine. Fortunately elected representatives who wanted to hold onto their jobs and were aware of the level of public mistrust in politics and the healthcare industry stymied that one.

As the pressure mounts to push us all towards consenting to be vaccinated and reports of the occasional death from flu are hyped while reports of serious side effects following administration of vaccines are dismissed as coincidence, the first case of somebody being seriously damaged by a flu vaccine has come in to remind us the main concern of the vaccine manufacturers is not our health but their own profits and the major concern of political groups is to kep major donors like Baxter International and Glaxo Smith Kilne sweet.

When someone seems very keen to do you a favour, so keen they start being menacing about it always ask yourself "Cui Bono," who benefits. Cicero was no fool.

Contempt For Democracy
Ed Butt

Mandy To Address The Commons No member of the House Of Lords has ever spoken in The Commons. It is a convention that exists for very good reason. So why is the Labour government again showing its contempt for democracy and the constitutuion by inviting the twice disgraced as an MP Peter Mandelson to take part in a session in the Commons?

It's clear to me what is happening. While Brown and Co. pay lip service to the idea of electoral reform they are really nudging us towards MPs being appointed by No. 10.

Thus The Commons will become yet another quango.

Who Can Sensible People Vote For
Ian R. Thorpe

As the second phase of the MPs expenses scandal reaches epidemic proportions and begins to look as if it will claim more (political) lives that the much publicised Swine Flu epidemic, it casts a shadow over the coming election. No party is untainted, arguably the Liberal Democrats are least damaged because on most cases their fiddling is no more than any company executive would get up to. They are not undamaged though. This has left a lot of people asking, "Who can I vote for, which party can I trust?

Well you can join me in supporting the Monster Raving Loony Party.

We've only once had a candidate in my constituency so I usually don't vote. I did vote for the Natural Law Party a couple of times because their yogic flyers made me laugh...

When I explain to humourless Labour cavassers that I will not be voting because I support the Loonys it elicits a long winded lecture on how privileged we are to live in a democracy and get a vote. This gives me the opportunity to stick the boot in by saying if the Labour Party really believed that they would bring in PR pronto then instead of my vote being truly wasted in a constituency where the result is a forgone conclusion, I might actually be able to contribute to the election of a Lib Dem or Green through the regional list.

in the run up to the election we will be writing much more on electoral reform and the importance this time around of voting for the fringe parties or the independent candidate to show the major parties government exists to serve the public rather the public existing for the convenience of politicians.

Trafigura And The Death Of Free Speech
by Ed Butt

This morning The Guardian Newspaper reported it had been gagged, a court had issued a restraining order fobidding the paper from reporting or even referring to a written question tabled in Parliament. We have always known the law has little to do with justice but many people still trust the courts.

Here's the story.

http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/2009/oct/12/guardian-gagged-from-reporting-parliament

The paper sought an emergency hearing to lodge an appeal and won - thanks to the support of bloggers, twitterers and commenters in news threads. Much to the chagrin of The Guardian however it was conservative blogger and wannabe MP Iain Dale who broke the news that the law firm behind the case, specialists in such work, had folded. Now the lawyers Carter Ruck and Partners and their client, oil trading company Trafigura can be named and this trasvesty of justice revealed.

The irony of this case is before it was brought nobody had heard of Trafigura or Carter Ruck. Now everybody has. This sorry tale does expose how an arcane and archaic set of British laws are being used by the intrenational elite and the dark forces of corporate fascism to hide their crime and malfeasance

In a nutshell UK law states that if a libel is published in Britain against anyone anywhere in the world and that publiation can be read in the target's domicile then a suit can be launched in a British court. This was not too bad even 15 years ago but now anything published on the net is considered to be published in Britain and the publisher can be sued in a British court. You can bet all the various branches of New World Order promoters are fully aware of the potential here for silencing criticism and suppressing investigative reporting.

Corporations and individuals are using the law to simply bully their critics because the cost of fighting a UK case for, say, a small American magazine is too much of a risk. And with courts prepared to issue restraining orders like the one just overturned, cases that are in the public interest can simply be stomped on and swept under the carpet.

Here are some background articles:

This article is at the top of the list for it's in depth reporting of the general situation. I'm sure many people will hate green campaigner George Monbiot. I must admit at times I feel like shoving his cycling helmet up his pastronising arse blunt end first (I drive very politically incorrect cars, hating cyclists is a sacred obligation for me) but he is a good journalist and did a investigative reporting job here British Libel Laws

The Monster From Duck Island - MPs Expenses Scandal Resurfaces
Ian R. Thorpe

We knew it was going to happen. When a dog bites you on the arse once it's more than likely the wretched creature will di so again should you be fool enough to go back within biting range.

The MPs expenses scandal was a mad dog of a crisis. MPs would have been better advise to come clean, pay back the money they must have known they fiddled and in the more serious cases conformed they would stand down at the next election. Instead many, particularly among those on the Labour benches chose to tough it out. We have remarked many times before on the authoritarian tendencies of the Labour Party however and a symptom of authoritarianism is the development of a delusional belief one is above the law.

One of the chief offenders it has emerged is Gordon Brown. The Prime Minister, during his time in the top job and as Chancellor of the Exchequer claimed an astonishing £12,000 in cleaning bills. How dirty can one man be?

it is difficult to see how Brown can survive this latest embarrassment. Does anyone else think we might have a new Prime Minister by Christmas?

The EU Turns On Czech President
Ian R Thorpe
I usually don't have much time for Daniel Hannan but he is increasingly becoming the only English voice willing to speak out against the bureaucratuic tyranny that is strangling Europe. As a classical liberal myself, socially liberal and economically a supporter of trade and enterprise so long as it it responsibly supervised and those who step beyond the limits of what is reasonable and fair are punished, I deplore the increasing levels of governmental control freakery being displayed by the bureaucractic dictatorship in Brrussels and European capitals and by the Obama administration in the USA.

In that at least I am on the same side of the political fence as Daniel Hannan and the Eurosceptic conservatives. We stand where we stand for different reasons but if we do not find common cause in resisting the New World Order we will son find ourselves being told where we can and cannot stand.

As a liberal and a believer in democracy then I must give Daniel Hannan, Declan Ganley, Vaclav Klaus and all the others who make up the Erop resistance my full backing. We can sort out who we want to talk to later. For now we must all defend our right to say what is on our mind.

And The Nobel Peace Prize This year Goes To...
...The Butcher Of Helmand. Yes the greatest warmonger ever, the President with within a day of his inauguration was signing executive orders commanding strikes by unmanned US military aircraft on civilian targets in Afghanistan and Pakistan, the man whose weakness and tendency to cave in as soon as anybody disagrees with him, the man who is driving the world towards nuclear proliferation because of weakness, naivete and inexperience has been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize.

It makes no odds of course, the politically correct lackeys of the Illuminati who hand out these arse kisses to corrupt and morally bankrupt politicians and internationally acclaimed wankers are about as relevant as the Chief Druid these days.

The only problem with this award is Obama's already over inflated ego is out of control without anybody heaping more undeserved praise on him. The failed lawyer, absentee senator, failed community organiser (by playing the race card he helped bully the U.S. banks into granting million dollar mortgages to people with no income, no assets and no job prospects thus playing a small but significant role in bringing about the credit crunch) failed university lecturer whose only qualification for any of these jobs he claims to have held is his ability to play the race card.

Until Barack Obama is cut down to size the world will become a more dangerous place with every day that passes.

The problem lies in getting the mass of politically correct Obama worshippers to desist being blinded by the colour of the man's skin to the very obvious fact that Barack Hussein Obama a.k.a Barry Soetoro a.k.a Barry Dunham, the man with many names is nothing more than the paid hireling of the International Finance Cartel and their political wing The Bilderberg Group. Until people can take that on board, can put aside the brainwashing of the past forty years and accept that equality means exactly that and we owe people of the dark skinned races nothing except equal respect and equal opportunities to develop their nations according to the will of and in the interests of the people of those nations we will continue to put ourselves at the ercy of the control freaks who pull Barack Obama's strings.

Me and Boris versus Blair
Not long ago I wrotew about Tony Blair's bid to become EU President , saying the slimy, insignificant piece of shit should be stopped at all costs. Now, from the opposite end of the political spectrum Boris Johnson has weighed in. Meanwhile in a comment in The Guardian a more centre left writer than I described Blair as a man who when in power had constantly put America's interests before those of Britain.

HPV Vaccine - The Real Agenda

Last week in Britain the first death associated with the HPV vaccine occurred. The young girl who dies had an undiagnosed tumor in her chest that, according to medical experts, could have killed her at any time.

It is worth noting that the vaccine did not kill her at any time but at a very specific time. Right after she had the vaccine which suggests that the dose of toxin injected into her provoked such an extreme reaction her body could not cope with it.

There are a number of questions; why was a life threatening tumour undiagnosed. I have no medical qualification but a quick search of reliable sites on the internet tends to confirm my gut reaction that a life threatening tumour would be causing some very noticable symptoms and it would take an unlikely combination of ineptitude from parents, teachers and family doctor to have overlooked the problem until it reached the stage at which te girl could have died at any time. I am not naming the family involved as my concern is not with them but with the health authorities and how cosy they are with vaccine manufacturers

Media reports this week tell us medical scientists are expressing relief that there has been no panic such as was generated by the MMR vaccine. The death being so close to the administration of the vaccine was just coincidence they say. Well it is always coincidence it seems. When a child develops auism symptoms, encephalitis or starts to suffer seizures shortly after receiving MMR vaccine, when serious side effects occur in the wake of other multiple vaccines. And always the response to concerns is the same. The authorities start by crying "co-incidence", there is then a period of obsfuscation, obstruction and finally a whitewash as everything possible is done to prevent a serious and impartial investigation of what is going on. There has not been a kerfuffle about HPV vaccine in this country yet though there is certainly one going on in the United States, in those states where the vaccine has been made compulsory

The controversy about the HPV vaccine, when it blows up here, will not be about safety but about cost. The Guardian reported in the past few days that the vaccine will save "between 3 and 4 hundred lives a year.

Now forgetting the call from the lunatic fringe of the vaccine lobby to vaccinate boys against cervical cancer on the basis that they might be carriers and infect somebody ( but if all the girls are vaccinated how will boys infect them?) that still leaves 300,000 female children a year at £300 per course (Vaccine costs -Times Online) which comes to £150 million a year. Even if all the estimated 1000 deaths a year from cervical cancer could be eliminated that is still a very expensive exercise.

Attempts by medical science and big pharma to abolish illness and death are a bottomless pit into which we can pour infinite amounts of money and the law of diminishing returns appies. The real object of the exercise is not to free the world of death however but to play on people's fears to make us all dependent on the healthcare and pharma industries.

The vaccine lobby are always quick to accuse their critics of irrational sentimentality but are they not equally guilty of emotional blackmail, of playing on people's sentiments to persuade us that all deaths can be avoided if only we will part with enough taxpayers' money.

The Great Climate Change Science Scam
by Ian R. Thorpe

I have been campaigning about climate change for over thirty years. Now, the more I read of efforts by governments, academics and corporate interests to come up with a quick fix the more I am convinced they are working a scam to make quick, easy money. For decades the only people concerned about the environment were considered cranks, hippies, crusties, crackpots and weirdie-beardies. Now quite suddenly the politicians, mainstream academics, industry and commerce and big media are all jumping on the climatebandwagon.

So what changed? Well suddenly this motely crew of charlatans, opportunists and self promoters discovered there is money to be made, power to be gained and fame to be courted. And of course they needed to divert our attention from the god-awful way they fucked up the world's financial system.... click button to read article

In the nineteen eighties and nineties that receded however as regular worshippers in Britain comprised just 6% of the population. Now however, thanks to militant atheism, the stigma is on the way back.

Immigrants Who Have Never Paid UK Tax Or National Insurance Claiming Billions A Year In Benefits

While the bleeding hearts of the "progressive left" wail and gnash their teeth over the plight of the world's poor a new report reveals hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants who came to this country on the pretext of studying or visiting relatives are living in fine style thanks to our lax approach to illegals and the incomptence of those who run the benefit system.

Are Feminists More Evil Than Nazis
A campaign by feiminists and lefties to get t shirts will slightly sexist slogans withdrawn from sale shows how authoritarian the progressive left are prepared to be in imposing their warped moral values on everybody.

The Decline And Fall Of The Bureaucratic Empire
The societies we live in, the companies we work for and by extension our lives are run by people who tell us they are much cleverer than we are. This is why we need elites and why, we are told, we must tolerate their high living, their jollies off to luxury resorts where they may focus their minds fully on how better to exploit us, use our money filched from tax revenues that should be spent to our benefit, on high class hookers. The point is we the ordinary punters are, according to these people, simply too stupid to ...

Hungary Faces Bankruptcy and Default as EU loses patience
The European Commission has launched legal action against Hungary's Fidesz government for violations of European Union treaty law and erosion of democracy, marking a dramatic escalation in the war of words with the EU's enfant terrible. "We'll use all our powers to make sure that Hungary complies with the rules of ..."

Drop in UK inflation Is Not Good News
The Office for National Statistics has reported a sharp fall in the Consumer Prices Index - down from 4.8 per cent in November to 4.2 per cent last month - was the sharpest drop in the annual rate since December 2008 when the UK was in recession and VAT was reduced. Government ministers and propagandists will try to talk this up as a sing that the economy is starting to recover. We should be wary however, in the current economic circumstances a drop in inflation, especially one this rapid in what is traditionally the best month of the year for retailers, is not good news ...

There Are Some Very Weird People Out There
A list of the strangest items left behind in bedrooms by guests at
hotels in the Travelodge budgret hotel chain is mind boggling. One has to wonder what sort of freaky things these people had been getting up to.

The Lard Hadron Collider
As excitements grows in the scientific community about the imminent announcement from the Large Hadron Collider team at CERN about how they have nearly found something interesting, Xavier Connolly explains why the whole thing is just a science a scam.

Euro Zone Gazes Into The Abyss As France Loses Its AAA Credit Rating
Stock markets fell sharply in late trading on Friday (13 January - oo-er) and the Euro zone single currency plunged against all other major currencies as Standard and Poor’s cut France’s AAA rating. Habitual debtor Italy saw its long-term rating dropped by two notches, along with Spain, Portugal and Cyprus. Malta, Slovakia, and Slovenia had their ratings lowered by one notch. A surprise victim of ...

Statistics, Graphs and Hockey Sticks
A poem about the famous hocvkey stick graph and the science scam it was a frony for. Posted now as a valedictory celebration because US climate monitoring agncies NASA and NOAA have at last admitted the global average temperature has risen only marginally over the past few decades.

Osborne Says Cuts To Across The Board Child Benefit Will Go Ahead.

Chancellor George Osborne has said the Coalition government's plan to cut child benefit for higher rate taxpayers will go ahead but after ministers' hints the policy could be made "fairer" Mr Osborne has agreed to review the plans. While Lib Deems and Labour MPs, the unthinking droids of the politically correct left wail and gnash their teeth at the prospect of any benefit being cut ever and the idiot fringe lefties at ...

Euro Zone Crisis: The Decline And Fall Of The Bureaucratic Empire
Euro zone leaders continue to insist the single currency must be saved even though any fool would recognise a dead parrot when they see one. So why are they prepared to sacrifice the furture for the single currency project. And was it ever really about money?

Unemployment at 8.3% Still Leaves A Vast And Destructive Jobs Deficit Robert Reich, The Guardian
The most significant aspect of January's jobs report is political. The fact that America's labor market continues to improve is good news for the White House. But as a practical matter, the improvement is less significant for the American workforce.
President Obama's only chance for rebutting Republican claims that he's responsible for a bad economy is to point to a positive trend. Voters respond to economic trends as much as ...

Hundreds of Independent Bookshops Face Closure
Hundreds of independent bookshops could be forced to close unless local authorities do more to support them, a leading retail group has warned. The Booksellers Association (BA), which represents 3,500 independent bookshops across the UK, has written to almost 400 council chiefs urging them to do more to support their local high streets or risk ...

Solar Panels Subsidy Was The Most Ridiculous Green Scheme Deramed Up
A plan to subsidise solar panels on homes was “one of the most ridiculous schemes ever dreamed up”, a Government minister has said.
Lord Marland, an Energy minister, hit out at the cost of so-called feed-in tariffs, which the Government has axed as part of the cuts programme. Last week Court of Appeal ruled that the sudden axing of the tariffs ...

Goodbye Great Britain
Recently, there have been two powerful challenges to the conventional wisdom about the United States. First, Robert Kagan published a lengthy essay in The New Republic, arguing that predictions of America's decline as a global power are woefully premature. .Is it possible, I found myself wondering, to do something similar for Britain? Robert Colvile has a go in this Daily Telegraph article ...

The Obama administration knifes Britain in the back again over the Falklands - By Nile Gardiner World
In yet another display of disdain for the Anglo-American Special Relationship, the Obama administration has weighed in on the mounting tensions between Great Britain and Argentina over the Falkland Islands. Just two days after Prime Minister David Cameron issued a robust statement in the House of Commons vowing to defend the sovereignty of the Falklands,…

Drones In The Hands Of The Paparrazi - It's an ethical minefield
America's use of drones for targeted killings is serious enough. But commercial and law enforcement uses are on the horizon. Whether you view them as model aeroplanes for grown-ups or the handmaidens of the killer robot, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, are taking off in earnest. ...

The Observer uncritically regurgitates Trotskyist smears against Katharine Birbalsingh- By Toby Young, Daily Telegraph
There’s a disgraceful attempt to smear Katharine Birbalsingh in this morning’s Observer. Under the headline “Katharine Birbalsingh criticised over ‘wasteful’ free school project“, the paper’s policy editor Daniel Boffey tries to create the impression that there’s growing local opposition to the Michaela Community School – Birbalsingh’s free school – which is due to open in…

We’re being sent the bill for the euro crisis again – this time by the IMF - By Daniel Hannan First it was individual banks; then whole industries; then entire countries; now it’s the world. Western leaders have reacted to the failure of each bailout by decreeing a bigger one. Unable to admit their mistake, slaves to the defunct economist whose thinking dominates our economics faculties and central banks, they act like so many Nick Leesons,…

The Three Parent Family More on the progressive left's war on the family and the scientific dictaorship's attempts to dehumanize us all. Babies with three biological parents could be born within three years. Scientists have come up with an IVF technique that uses the undamaged DNA of a third party when couples risk giving their children a genetic conditions such as muscular dystrophy or ataxia. The Wellcome Trust has funded the research (the figures vary between £4 million and six million …

As Obama Positions Himself For A War In Syria We Learn That Like Gadaffi, Assad Is Popular With His People
Most Syrians back President Assad, but you'd never know from western mediaAssad's popularity, Arab League observers, US military involvement: all distorted in the west's propaganda war. Suppose a respectable opinion poll found that most Syrians are in favour of Bashar al-Assad remaining as president, would that not be major news? Well one did and we never heard a word of it in the Obama felching western media ...

Bullshit Sherlock
While other blogs are full of how great the cliff - faller ending of Sherlock Holmes was I felt a bit let down. The fake suicide was telegraphed all through the show. And the coda assured us Sherlock had survived. We should not forget of course it was the habit of ...

Will bringing back grammar schools boost social mobility? by Toby Young Daily Telegraph
The possibility that England may shortly see its first new grammar school in over 50 years has, predictably enough, re-opened the debate about selective education. Yesterday, for instance, Allison Pearson came down firmly in favour, while Fiona Millar shot back with an instant rebuttal. I’ll get into that argument in a moment, but first let’s be…

So Why Read Books Anymore
There is great “truth and beauty” in Homer’s Iliad, but I would not try to make his sale on such platitudes. Gibbon’s The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire remains a classic. But I confess it can be hard to get through. Conrad’s Victory or Knut Hamsun’s Growth of the Soil, if authored by writer X this year, would be trashed on Amazon. So what are the reasons, in this age of ...

Eric Holder and the Chicago Way In America Obama's Brownshirts are getting hysterical as they try to make race the major issue in the election campaign.

Dystopian Prophecies Are Coming True - The Government Will Soon Choose Our Wives
Thinking of this entertaining new literary award – “the Hatchet Job of the Year” – it was natural to turn to Macaulay’s Essays, for few reviewers have ever been less reluctant to wound. I had in mind two long review-essays, one on Robert Montgomery’s Poems, the other on The State in its relations with ...
