Americans Don’t Know that the Rest of the World Views U.S. as Biggest Danger, Rogue State
Americans Don’t Know that the Rest of the World Views U.S. as Biggest Danger
by Arthur Foxake
According to the leading western polling agencies (WIN/Gallup International), the prize for “greatest threat” is won by the United States. The rest of the world regards it as the gravest threat to world peace by a large margin. In second place, far below, is Pakistan, its ranking probably inflated by the Indian vote. Iran is ranked below those two, along with China, Israel, North Korea, and Afghanistan. (Huffington Post)
Fifteen years ago, political scientist and media analyst Samuel Huntington warned in the establishment journal Foreign Affairsthat for much of the world the U.S. was “becoming the rogue superpowe, the single greatest external threat to their societies. Shortly after, his words were echoed by Robert Jervis, the president of the American Political Science Association: “In the eyes of much of the world, in fact, the prime rogue state today is the United States.” As we have seen, global opinion supports this judgment by a substantial margin.
But Americans don’t know any of that. We assume the rest of the world loves and respects us, as we are spoon-fed the “World’s Greatest” and “Exceptional Country” pablum from the mainstream media.
Behind the imbecility projected in 'liberal' media however is something more sinister. While apologists for American fascism my blether about the clause in the consitution that guarantees the right of free speech is the sure and certain knowledge that to comment on black criminality, express opposition to same sex marriage, question the fake science behind the climate change scare or criticise the prostitute president and is administration of cronies is to risk being thrown in jail for racism, 'hate speech' (whatever that is), blasphemy or unAmerican activities.
American's are too preoccupied with domestic issues to care much about how the world perceives their fascist country or the tyrant who rules it by executive fiat. Unresolved allegation of brutality by America's militarised police, for example, outrage and frighten millions, and the longer it goes without resolution, the more the fear component becomes the message between the lines, "step out of line and you are dead ort in prison, you must never question authority". Ditto chronic unemployment; no-one wants to endanger a precarious position in the middle class and to be accused of racism, homophobia or 'climate denial' has resulted in people losing their jobs and becoming unemployable.
Of course, no small number are probably proud of being a global threat as an expression of vicarious empowerment spicing up a powerless life.
