The Daily Stirrer, March

The Stirrers
One of the reasons the founding old Gits decided to publish The Daily Stirrer was because they detected a convergence of perspective in the political arena and the news media. A package of opinions, that perpetual economic growth was achieveable through borrowing, that immigration was good for the economy, higher taxation circulated through benefits equals economic growth, multiculturalism worlks, science is infallible and so on were being imposed on the population. Our aim was to promote freethinking and diversity of opinion.

EU-funded BBC documentary on Obama sparks allegations of anti-Brexit bias

As this is the ultra left wing BBC we are talking about, this news blog would go so far as to say the documentary is a sign of the national broadcaster's anti British bias. When the BBC can blatantly broadcast anti western propaganda on climate change (pushing for us to reduce carbon emissions despite there being no economically viable alternatives, while our rivals forge ahead, growing their economies), foreign policy, education and race relations, what can we expect from a documentary eulogising a narcissistic egomaniac who has confessed that he hates white people and the British in particular.

The BBC has produced an uncritical documentary series on Barak Obama’s presidential legacy using cash from the European Commission (EC) as the outgoing president ramps up his anti-Brexit lobbying ahead of a planned visit to the UK by Obama, during which, after inviting himself to address parliament, he planned to use the visit to preach pro EU propaganda through the left leaning media to British voters in the run up to the IN / OUT referendum on the EU.

Fortunately many UK Members of Parliament who have more love for their country than they do for the self - worshipping wannabe President Of The Entire #Univrse and Everything Else Besides have objected strongly to the idea of Obama being allowed to intervene in a matter of UK domestic politics.

Obama’s visit the UK to bolster Prime Minister David Cameron’s campaign for Britain to remain in the European Union (EU) has angered Euroskeptics and the wider British public, pushing more than 26,000 people to back a petition calling for the trip to be scrapped.

The petition, which will remain online until August 3, has attracted 100,000 signatures to date.

The taxpayer - funded BBC co-produced the four-part documentary series “Inside Obama’s White House” with ARTE France. An array of other Western media outlets, including SBS-TV Australia and RDI/Radio Canada, also collaborated in the production process.

The BBC previously attempted to shroud its EU funding in secrecy because the state broadcaster is compelled to remain politically neutral, as laid out in its Charter.

Critics suggest this aversion to transparency occurred because the BBC is funded by British taxpayers through the television license fee.

The BBC Trust, which sets the strategic direction for the BBC, declined to confirm or deny the precise origin of the documentary series’ funding sources. The body is responsible for ensuring the BBC’s services meet audience expectations. However, in the credits of the opening episode, the European Commission-funded organization Creative Europe Media is listed as a funder.

Creative Europe will have used €1.46 billion worth of British and European taxpayers’ money to support European projects between now and 2020, according to its website. The organization also has offices in a number of British government-funded institutions, including the British Institute and the British Council, meaning Brits are funding this documentary in multiple ways.

Ex-BBC journalist Robin Aitken has long argued the BBC is prone to pro-EU bias.

“Throughout the 1980s, the 1990s and well into the new century the BBC was, in contravention of its commitment to impartiality, wholeheartedly and unashamedly pro-EU,” he wrote last November on the rightwing website Conservative Home.

“It is my belief that BBC bias in favor of the Europhile case has been counter-productive. I will go further: the BBC’s pro-EU bias is one of the main reasons why the Brexit camp now has the wind in its sails.”

Aitken added the BBC has the power to exert “almost irresistible pressure on a government.”

According to an article published in the Telegraph, the BBC secretly received millions of pounds from the EU and UK councils between 2008 and 2012. While BBC Worldwide borrowed more than £141 million from the European Investment Bank, it was also found to have received more than £3 million in grants.

British blood in Libya - Obama's price for 'stay' campaign support?

Raedwald

There's a very funny smell hanging around Cameron, Obama, Libya and the 'stay' campaign right now. Firstly, the US President, whose every public word is guarded by a phalanx of PR experts, blames Cameron for leaving business unfinished in Libya. Then it's revealed that Obama will strongly support the 'stay' campaign. And now the leaks are starting that Obama wants boots on the ground in Libya before the end of his presidential term - that means this year. And Cameron has nothing left to lose.

So one has to wonder if Cameron, like Blair, has already promised the US President that UK troops will fight in Libya alongside a US contingent - and whether Obama's support for the 'stay' campaign is the price for this.

We won't know, of course, until Cameron feels compelled to tell the House of 'urgent' matters that have just arisen regarding Libya and seeking support for an expeditionary force. No doubt the Cabinet Secretary is already writing the mandatory Dodgy Dossier. Or perhaps a Libyan 'incident' is already being contrived or allowed to develop.

We've got nine months of 2016 left to find out.
