The writers will tackle business and politics, bureucracy, health society, science and technology. education, transport and any other issue where the media conspire with the money men to make sure the difficult questions are not being asked.

More Climate Science Fraud Exposed: Himalyan Glaciers Are Not Melting
The Himalayas has lost no significant ice over the past decade, according to a new study, that found melting ice from glaciers is having a much smaller effect on sea levels than previously thought. Previous studies relied on physical measurements of ice caps and glaciers on the ground. It's ironic that people who have relied on high tech modelling techniques to conceal the reality of what is going on are now exposed (again) as crooks and liars by new high tech methods of measuring glaciers ...

Bank Of England To Print Money To Avoid Recession

No Jobs For The Masses In The New Economy Despite University Education

One Decent Jobs Report Does Not Make A Recovery
There are two reasons why President Obama rushed to the microphone on Friday shortly after the government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) released relatively good news (by recent standards) that the unemployment rate dropped to 8.3% in January, while the economy added 243,000 seasonally adjusted jobs. ...

Much Media Ado About Nothing What connects seemingly disparate works such as The Silence of the Lambs, Cape Fear, Mad Men, and Seinfeld? Dawn Of The Ice Age Signals The End Of The Global Warming Scam Back then, the media and activists trumpeted the arrival of a new ice age, with the specter of ice sheets and glaciers covering half the northern hemisphere, and brutal winters in the remaining ice-free zones. The fact that the media and popular culture and academia have veered from one panic-inducing disaster scenario to another one which completely contradicts the first one is funny enough in its own right. But reading The Weather Conspiracy: The Coming of the New Ice Age opened my eyes to an even more significant aspect ...

Lib Dems Must Stop Themselves Sailing Into The West

Following a reasonably successful conference a couple of weeks ago the Liberal Democrats have edged above Labour in some polls. Though the party leaders cannot do other than celebrate this in public, privately they should be worried. At their annual conference in Brighton this week Labour have turned in a similarly solid performance with no splits, the rumoured political assassination of Gordon Brown did not take place and there were no major gaffes though when the right wing press identify the similarities between Labour's plan to deal with the problem of single parent families and the BNP's Gulags For Slags policy I think the Labour baiters will have a field day.

Next week it is the turn of the Conservatives. Despite their high poll rating the Tories have not yet won over the electorate. Too many people ...

Gulag For Slags
In his big speech at the Labour Conference today Gordon Brown unveiled plans to deal with the growing problem of dysfunctional one-parent families. Young women who repeatedly get pregnant by different men in order to play the benefits system are a growing problem and Mr Brown suggests rather than giving such people council flates ahead of responsible people in low paid jobs, they should be put in hostels for unmarried mothers where they can be educated and socialised.

But where did Gordon get the idea from? Could it ny chance have been the right wing extremist BNP's Gulags For Slags policy presented in more moderate language? Now that is going to play really well to Labours Politically Correct Thought Police.

I'm a liberal, always have been. I believe in individual freedom, personal choice, equality of opportunity and before the law. I do not believe the darker a person's skin the greaer their moral worth, I do not believe in identity politics or affirmative action, voters or people conducting job interviews should be free to pick the person they think is best for the job regardless of quotas, uplifts and Nazi style bullying.

I do not believe most people who call themselves Liberals to day understand the philosophies of liberalism. The people who masquereade as Liberals to sell themselves and their sneaky, authoritarian agenda to reasonable people behave more like an Orwellian Thought Police Force than liberals.

I have always felt this. It's nice to see others are coming round to my point of view. Lynne Featherstone Is Not A Liberal

Will The Irish Democrats Say "Feck Off" To EU Lisbon Treaty Tyranny?

All free thinkers and right minded people who value personal liberty and the civilised values of western civilisations should have cheered last year when the voters of Ireland, the only national constituency to be consulted on the hugely important issue of a new treaty that will vastly increase the powers of the European Union central bureaucracy and undermine national soverignty resoundingly rejected the proposal. Showing a contempt for democarcy we normally associate only with the Nazi corporations of big pharma, big oil and international banking, the EU Bureaucrats declared the Irish voters were too thick to understand such a complext issue and had given the wrong answer.

The Irish government were told, your electorate got it wrong and that cannot be tolerated. You must ask them to vote again and if necessary again and again and again until they get it right. People who do not want every detail of their lives controlled by bureaucrats in Brussels or Strasbourg are insane. The Irish government lamely caved in as soon as the leader of the "No" campaign, billionaire businessman Declan Ganley had stepped back from politics to return to his day job running a string of businesses. In just over a week Irish voters will go to the polls again. This time their government and the faceless overlords of Europe expected the treaty to be given and overwhelming "yes" vote. Polls showed however that it would be a close run thing again and this has encouraged the estimable Mr. Ganley to step back into the fray and give a late boost to the "No" campaign. Read his passionate argument for rejecting increased unification in Irish Democrats Still Say No To Lisbon and gain hope that the onward march of authoritarianism can be delayed if not completely halted.

Be sure that with the Eurosceptic Conservative about to sweep to power in Britain in an election that will see Labour with their control freakey and authoritarianism consigned to opposition for twenty years, another NO will sens a message to the Bureaucratic Puppets of Brussels and their faceless paymaster:

The Importance Of Free Speech and The Right To Offend
A good article and essential reading for all free thinkers. We should all be aware that anything we say will offend somebody somewhere and so close our ears to the whining of the politically correct fascists."

One of the most dangerous trends in the English speaking world over the past few decades had been the hijacking of individuality by psychologists. The ever growing army of shrinks like to tell us they study the human psyche and thus are qualified to tell us all how to live. One of the areas in which psychology has been most successful is in the suppression of free speech and freedom of though. We must never openly disagree with anybody as to do so is hostile and we must never criticise anybody's beliefs because we may hurt their feelings.

Well let's be straight, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger and hurt feelings never killed anybody. What the shrinks and trick cyclists have done is to target the weak and exploit their sentimentality by connecting it to that ludicrous 1960s stoner philosophy that posits if we all join hands and sing Kumbaya the world will be healed overnight. I have always said, "Beware the terrible tyranny of the weak."

Give weak people the slightest sniff of power and they immediately become completely out of control in their abuse of it. Attach the authority of law to their politically correct ideas and very soon we are ruled by tyrannical wussiness. Consider some of the recent ideas of the Politically Correct Thought Police: If a black person and a white person are involved in a dispute it is our moral duty to be on the side of the black person; Any verbal attack on or criticism of a homosexual is prompted by homophobia and is therefore a hate crime; Children are not capable of wrongdoing and should not be punished; The failure of tribal societies in the Third World to develop is entirely the fault of the west; Any one person's religious or spiritual beliefs are as good as anyone else's and should be respected.

And so the idiocy goes on, the list is endless.

Most of the problems the world faces can be traced back to the fluffy thinking of these weak, creepy people. They feminised the hard men of the Trade Unions and now they whine when the dark forces of Capitalism trample the workers, they castrated the mavericks of politics and the press and now when we need leaders and people of vision we have only wimps, the goats are being led by the sheep because it is soooo unfair that the weak, docile sheep should have to take second place in the pecking order to the smart, courageous, independent goats.

This political correct thinking, this tyranny of the weak has put the whole world out of kilter. We must learn to be strong again, to cope with adversity without running to a therapist, to overcome trauma without turning to a therapist. We must learn to emulate in ways appropriate to a high tech world on the verge of environmental meltdown how to emulate our ancestors who struggled to survive in a world that after the Ice Age was assailed by floods, volcanic eruption, earthquake and famine and who, equipped with tools and weapons made of wood, bone and stone competed for food against Wooly Mammoths, Sabre Tooth Tigers, Gry-Lions, Cave Bears and Giant Rhinosceri.

Will politically correct wusses singing Kumbaya be able to hack it in this brave new world? I think not.

Talk Of More Troops Cannot Mask Afghan Failure

While the twin clowns Brown and Barack talk of sending more troops to Afghanistan and even extending the war into Pakistan, few people in Britain or America are under any illusions now. The Afghan war has failed even more disastrously than the war in Iraq.

Fortunately we in Britain only have a few months to wait until we can throw out our clown. America may have to struggle on, trying to work around Obama's increasingly obvious incompetence and naivete, for three more years. By the time Barry is consigned to the garbage chuse of history there is likely to be little left of the once mighty American economy to salvage.

I never thought I would feel sorry for the yanks.

21 Sept 2009 Technology Is Anthropology
by Ed Butt

Some people do talk bollocks, utter unmitigated bollocks. But this guy, Jose Antonio Vargas, talks shitty bollocking bollocksy festring arse dribbling bollocks. The boy Vargas equates technology and more specifically Apple's overpriced shite technology with evolution in fact he suggests that Apple's overpriced shitty, only for stupid cunts who like paying way over the odds for shitty third rate technology that would not be fit for purpose even if the purpose you bought it for was to throw on the ground and jump up and down on it while screaming "why don't you fucking work you abysmal piece of fucking shit?"

Vargas says Apple fans belong on a different planet to the rest of us because they are on a steeper evolutionary trajectory. So being the kind of stupid cunt who pays over the odds for a computer that is ten years behind the leading edge make someone a superior being does it. Being the kind of stupid cunt who pays £120 for am MP3 player that restricts him to one music supplier when for £30 he could have a music player that plays industry standard format downloads from any source is a superior being. I would say such people have reached the end of their evolutionary line and are headed for extinction. Or cuntification maybe. Because Darwinian natural selection eliminates stupid cunts.

Well one thing Vargas said that I actually agree with is Apple people belong on a different planet - they belong on any planet but the one inhabited by intelligent human beings. I get so irritated with these self justifying clowns blethering on about how great Apple technology is because they want me to think they are smart for paying way over the odds for inferior kit. I use a lot of electronic kit. None of it is Apple because Apple is simply not up to the job or because I have old kit (e.g. mobile that does everything a phone should do. Actually I hardly ever use my Nokia phone because when I'm out of the office I'm out of the effing office (even when I'm physically in the office if you take my point) Why TF would I want to watch a movie on a three inch x two inch screen? Technology is addictive and is responsible for a lot of stress related illness. But if they are Apple fans they deserve it because they are stupid cunts.

America Is Collectively Insane
The United States Of America was always something of a haven for eccentrics, nutters and fanatics. The nation was heading that way from the outset as misfits, mavericks and religious rebels were drawn to its almost limitless spaces. Clauses built into the Constitution to protect the freedoms of individuals, freedom of speech and worship, the right to bear arms etc. were first interpreted in ways the founders of the nation could never have imagined and from there became mythologised.

It is not surprising then that the USA has spawned so many religious cults, so many sub cultures and so many debilitating social phenomena. Many of the population are still in thrall to the solipsistic ideas of 1960s stoner philosophers while many more flock to fundamentalist churches to take refuge in the unthinking obedience of the cult follower. Not a good mix. You can be what you want to imagine yourself to be and your idiocy will be respected so long as you respect the idiocies of others who believe themselves to be in touch with the spirits of 20,000 year old Sumerian warriors, alien super - races or shape shifting lizards.

The election of Barack Obama, who campaigned on the promise that he would heal America's deep divisions and unite the nation into a post racial society has accelerated the march into collective madness rather than reversed it.

On one side people flock to the cause of rabid right radio and television hosts such as Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck who recycle the patriotic rhetoric of the bush administration. On the other, high priests of The Cult Of The Obamessiah will not even allow the most reasonable criticism or questioning of Obama to go by without branding the person responsible as a racist.

So can anybody save America? Not Obama on current evidence, he has divided the nation in half, those who worship his every move and statement, who dubbed him the greatest US President ever on the day after his inauguration, who thing Obamanomics and Obamacare cannot fail to solve the economic and healthcare crises by virtue of their being associated with Obama, who look at their anointed one, see the sun shining out of his arse and smell the waft of lavender emitted when he farts. On the other side there are those for whom the only thing he could do with their support is fuck off and die.

At the same time there seems to be no leaders emerging on the right to launch a credible challenge. The Daily Stirrer reported over the last few days on the true depth of the economic crisis facing America. Perhaps the predicted collapse of the dollar in response to the government of an almost bankrupt nation embarking on the most insane spending spree ever will bring about economic hardship that will unite people so that a grassroots movement can begin to rebuild American society from the ground up.

Read This excellent article from First Post, Why America Has Gone Nuts to learn how far off the rails American society has gone in the ten months since Obama's election.

As Lib Dem leader Nick Clegg spoke on the need to curb insane levels of public spending we wonder has mainstream media indifference dealt the third party a bad hand again. Clegg and the Liberal Democrats finance team led by Vince Cable have been warning of the crazy ascent of the Public Sector Borrowing Requirement since the financial collapse last year.

Suddenly, in the face of increasingly catastrophic financial statistics, the major party leaders are talking sensibly about cuts. Well in the case of Gordon Brown what he is saying stretches the definition of sensible but at least he has acknowledged there is a serious problem instead of burbling about green shoots of recovery as he has for the past few months.

Once again the Liberal Democrats have led the way in understanding the problem if not perhaps the depth of it but nobody understands the depth of the shit we are in financially. Our economic situation will not stop deteriorating until we come to rest on the abyssal plain. Once again the hopelessly out of touch leaders of Conservative and Labour parties are jumping aboard after the bandwagon has started to roll and the third party are at risk of losing out again.

There is one area where the Lib Dems can score though. Labour have identified themselves as a party of control freakery and social engineering. They have given us the surveillance society in which police have abandoned trying to control the streets in favour of lurking in high tech offices and sending out tickets for littering, minor parking offences and not picking up your dog's shit. They have given us zero tolerance on speed limits but can't be arsed chasing muggers, rapists, child abusers and murderers. If your home is broken into you need not expect help from the police but if you cooperate with the robbers and get beaten to a pulp, three days later PCSO Tiny Littlebottom will come round on his Raleigh Chopper to tell you about victim support counselling, but should you batter the burglar with the baseball bat you keep handy for such things Labour's Crown Prosecution Service will come down on you like a ton of bricks. Thieving scumbags have rights you know.

Labour have banned smoking in the office, in pubs and all other public buildings and are on their way to banning it in the street, parks and anywhere. You can guarantee it will not be long before they are following the New York city council and trying to ban you from smoking in your own home.

On top of that consider all the national databases Labour have commissioned to make it possible for the government to keep a paper trail of all your activities. It is only down to the sheer incompetence of the public sector that none of these actually work. Remember Labour's National ID Cards scam. It would make life easier, it would make society safer, they told you as they tried to justify making you pay for your own enslavement. They did not talk much about how the RFID chips in the cards could locate where you were to within six feet at any time. They didn't push that angle did they. They did not make a big deal of their plan to make it a crime to leave home without your card. They did not boast of their intention to turn the entire effing country into a replica of The Prisoner TV series.

In ways small and big Labour have demolished our Liberties and withdrawn our rights. They was even talk of launching criminal prosecutions against people who refused the swine flu vaccine even though everyone knows the vaccine is useless and has serious, possibly fatal side effects in many cases. No Labour are Nazis, they might whimper about minorities being oppressed but they would oppress all of us. You migh be gay or black but the cameras would still watch you and the RFID system would still track you. When Labour talk about a fair society they mean everybody gets shat on equally except the Politically Correct Elite.

The Tories are - well, the Tories. They still believe in forelock tugging and that social mobility means sending miscreants to Australia. When you ask Cameron or Boris or one of the Bullingdon Bully Boys about civil liberties and social justice they just stick their fingers in their ears and start singing Lloyd George Knew My Father. Forget rights and liberties under the Tories.

The Liberal Democrats however are committed to liberty. They understand equality does not mean some are more equal than others and that to over compensate minorities for perceived injustices in the past can only lead to resentment. Nick Clegg is right to talk about economic policy but if he wants to attract the disgruntled working class Labour voter he can do no better that demonstrate that only the Liberal Democrats understand what personal freedom and equality of opportunity really mean.

Public Sector Borrowing Will Bankrupt Britain

Of all the stupid decisions Gordon Brown made since he has been Prime Minister and even before that when he spent a year as Tony Blair's Chancellor, the bailout of the bankrupt Merchant Bankers was probably the worst. There was no way to save them without and in trying to do so he has only attached the fortunes of Britain to thse disreputable, greedy institutions so they can drag the healthy parts of the economy into the abyss with them.

News today that Public Sector Borrowing for the month of August was over 16bilion pounds was greeted with a shrug by shell shocked experts. "It could have been worse," they said.

Worse? We're fucked, how much worse could it be than that?

And yet in the same week we have heard the bankers are paying themselves big fat bonuses again because the investment banking sector is back in profit. So what's going on here?

What is happening will shock you more than the raw numbers. The banks are making money by borrowing taxpayers money from the government at half a per cent interest and lending it back to us at three or four percent interest. You would think a politician could see that is not good business. You would think even a Labour politician could see it is economic insanity and Labour politicians tend to be on the insane fringe of politics, especially those who achieve high office.

But no, every time they are in power they start spouting high minded bullshit about ideas for social engineering that failed in the nineteenth century and are guaranteed to fail even more catastrophically now, then they end up governing by panic. The "New Labour Project" has failed, it failed years ago. Now all they are doing is firefighting but they can't even make a decent fist of that. Instead of pissing on the flames they are throwing buckets of paper money on it.

Effing morons

The Imminent Collapse Of The US Economy
We predicted the collapse of the dollar here some time ago. Now the economic pundits are catching on to what is happening in the global economy. America was already on the brink before Obama was elected, now his political naivete, economic illiteracy, insane spending and overweening arrogance in believing he can charm or bully the leaders of great nations into complying with his diktat are about to prove America's undoing. At leasdt we can enjoy the schadenfreude as we tighten our belts and prepare to live in the wreckage of the globalisation project.

US Dollar is collapsing, Euro rising.

The Thinking Way Of Eating
Two new ideas about eating have come from America this week. One is Flexi-tarianism which is covered in our Boggart Blog post Omnivore, Herbivore or What? The oher is Mindful Eating which has a book and probably DVD tie ins, product tie ins and product placement tie ins attached. Mindful eating is not a diet, which is the only original thing about it. In fact that is the only original thing about it because the noton is not new. It used to be known as eating sensibly or using a bit of common sense.

The premise is that Americans have come to regard cheap food as a right and because supermarkets are willing to provide mountains of cheap food the punters think they must scoff as much of it as their bellies will stretch to. Thus the program advises Americans to be mindful of what they eat, to ask themselves "Do we really need a family sixed pizza each, couldn't we each have a quarter of one pizza with some salad, or; Did I really want to eat that gallon bucket of Ben and Jerry's Passion Fruit and Pork Scratchings Ice Cream.
H
opefully the answer will be "No I didn't, excuse me while I go and throw up."

There are many myths in cuirculation about cheap food. One is that the large retail conclomerates create jobs. A new Asda store(UK name of Wal Mart) will create 500 jobs, the TV news will say. They never quantify how many jobs are being lost in the butchers, fruit & veg, bakery, hardware shops that will be put out of business or forced to downsize when big retail arrives in town.

For all the claimed advantages the arrival of a superstore rips the heart out of a few more neighbourhoods and communities. And prices are not that much cheaper.

Manchester UK is a conurbation of about three million population. I remember as a boy going to the wholesale markets with my Grandfather. It was reminiscent of scenes from Zola's La Ventre de Paris. In the wholesale markets area, a vast space covered with a cast iron and glass roof there were rows of stalls for fruit and vegetable wholesalers, butchers, poultry dealers, fishmongers, dairy products and more.Great avenues of fresh food marched through this space in the city centre, it was a melange of colour, scent, noise and activity. It was business. Tradesmen from all over the city converged on the markets every morning. By 2 p.m. it was all over, the stalls were cleaned down and the only people around were late finishers preparing for the next days business.

All that is gone now but somehow the whole business of distributing and buying food is more banal, less colourful. Another downside is that we are less aware of our food, how it is produced, where it comes from.

I think many people prefer the modern way as they don't have to think about where food comes from, that the tasty chop on their plate was once a cute piglet or lamb, the cod fillet was once a fish swimming in the ocean or that dung, ground bones or output from an oil refinery were dumped on the land to grow potatoes or cabbage.

Protecting people from reality is big business.

We are what we eat

Cloned beef? I don't want to eat clone - leave my steak alone 2009-09-15 Recovery Can't Fix The Economic Problem Vince Cable explains the true nature of Britain's financial crisis and why burgeoning public spending over the last decade means a recovery from recession alone cannot possibly solve the problem.

One of the tricks New Labour pulled to disguilse what a shitty mess they were really making of the UK economy was to expand public sector employment massively in order to disguise the extent to which our industrial base had been allowed to decay. By creating candy floss jobs in quangos Labour kept the employment figures down and while activity in the financial and housing sector created an illusion of growth where there was only an increase in debt. Now the financial sector has collapsed and it becomes clear the government was borrowing money in the international markets to keep or economy afloat.

OK, so how fucked are we really?

We're fucking fucked, that's how fucked we are.

Never Mind The Bollocks, She's A Woman
Ed Butt.

We reported a couple of weeks ago that if South African runner Caster Semenya was not a bloke then we would eat every hat worn at Royal Ascot on Ladies day. Semanya looked like a bloke, spoke like a bloke, stood the way a bloke stands, ran like bloke and had facial hair.

According to this leaked report we will not be eating any hats.

"Semenya a hermaphrodite"/a> Apparently she has undescended testicles and no womb or oaries.

A very unpleasant aspect of "The Obama Effect" is that the slightest criticism of any person of colour is immediately dubbed racist. In fact it is not racist to question of criticise a black person (especially Obama whose penchand for lying, evasion and obfuscation are legendary) Such criticism can only be called racist if it is levelled at all black people. For anyone thinking of whining that criticism of Semenya here is racist, remember that nobody has complained about any of the other black women who competed at the recent world championships. They looked like women, spoke like women, stood like women and ran like women. One idiot in a comment on the previous post said Semenya looked like former Olympc medallist and fashion model Jackie Joyner Kersee. That is a prime example of how politically correct thinking warps judgement. Jackie Joyner Kersee, though well muscled and athletically built is very attractive, beautiful even, and 100% feminine. Nobody would ever mistake her for a man. Other people, equally idiotic, put forward the solipsistic argument; "If Caster wants to be a woman we should accept her as a woman." Yeah, right. If some talentless twat turns up on the X Factor and wants to be a pop star should we listen to their tunless catawauling and applaud rapturously or should we tell the deluded clown to fuck off? A blokes a bloke regardles of skin colour or solipsistic sophistry and many of us still can spot a bloke when we see one.

It is not a question of racists targeting Semenya who has clearly been exdploited by unscrupulous individuals, but of being fair to other competitors who are wholly female no matter what their nationality of colour.

SHOCK HORROR! Semenya's got bollocks.

Obama's watered down speech to schools

Barack Obama's much hyped speech to school pupils caused a storm when it was leaked that the self-worshipper-in-chief planned to exhort kids to ask themselves "what can I do to serve President Obama. No dount a man as deluded as Barack Hussein Obama thought he was doing something really cute in paraphrasing Jack Kennedy. Kennedy of course had the political acumen to say, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country."

The Daily Stirrer has previously referred to Obama's similarities to the central character in a Shakespearean tragedy and that as the plot unfolds we wait for the flaws in The President's character to bring about his downfall. Again we see the truth of this as Obama has to beat a hasty retreat from a posiion his overweening arrogance had put him in.

In the event Obama talked to kids about washing their hands and diligently handing in their homework. Strangely though his speech used the word "I" 56 times yet only yesterday an avid Obamessiah cult follower was reprimanding me for saying he was self-obsessed. That kool aid he haded out during the campaign was potent stuff.

Blinding Themselves With Science

I've been getting angrier and angrier with the way scientists have been allowed to hijack the climate change debate. These people are too obsessed with their own cleverness. They produce graphs and charts and spout baffling statistics and make predictions which are instantly proved wrong. In response the deniers produce well presented, accessible arguments like this, which no matter how plausdile it seems only presents half the story.

Blinding the world with science

Read that and you will see why the scientific fuckwits have to get their stupid, self regrding heads out of their arses and start learning how to argue a case rather than trying to blind everyone with science and only succeeding in blinding themselves to that fact they their statitics and charts are losing the argument.

Brown Sells His Delusions To G20 Leaders
Gordon Brown, a drowning man clutching at straws if ever there was one, managed to sell his delusional hopes of turning the economy to fellow G20 leaders this week when he persuaded them the only way to salvage the global economy all these power crazed lunatics dream of creating is to keep spending insanely, printing money to finance bailouts, handouts and payoffs to corrupt tyrants whose countries have oil.

Brown needs to keep spending of course, Britain's debt is out of control, we are close to the point at which we do not earn enough to service our debts let alone set about reducing them. And so Gordon Brown, the man who promised the earth and delivered a pile of dirt, the man who presided as chancellor over an economic miracle engineered by persuading so many people to run up debts they could never hope to repay in two lifetimes, the man who stole our pensions and destroyed our savings, the Svengali of stealth tax, now talks up the idea of recovery.

I say idea but recovery is no more than a pipe dream, a fairy tale to lull the weak of spirit to sleep. Brown's only hope of salvaging some hope from the wreckage of his Premiership, Obama's only hope of avoiding losing his majority in both houses of his nation's government at the 2010 mid term elections, lies in rampant inflation. Keep pumping money into the economies, inflation sets in and every point the index rises represents a cut in the nation's debts.

Forget about the mortgage payers whose repayments will be doubled by sky high interest, forget the people struggling with maxed out credit cards, a debt monkey on their backs, their children's backs and their grandchildren's backs. Gordon Brown is only interested in himself, in a short term fix to create the illusion of recovery and fool enough voters to avoid going down in history as the man who led Labour to electoral annihilation and terminal decline.

Don't be fooled, batten down the hatches and reduce your debts. Inflation will only mean everything costs more and your wages stay the same.

All politicians hate you and see you not as a human being but as a resource to be exploited..

Remember that and exercise your right to think for yourself. Janet Daley

The Mythology Of The Afghan War
We have all lost faith in the politicians and the media. Politicians simply do not know how to tell the truth, they don't even try to tel believable lies any more. The media have abandoned all pretence of objectivity, they just serve the agenda of their corportate owners.

So where do we turn for the truth? We can only take in a wide cross section of opinions and decide from our own judgement and experience which seems to make some sort of sense. The article linked from the title is a good rundown on some of the myths promulgated in support of continuing the Afghan war.

Will Gordon Brown be burned on bonfire night?
A while ago it looked as if Gordon Brown might still lead the Labour Party into the next election if he could only make it to the summer recess. Absence from Parliament does not mean absence from headlines however and poor old Gordon has had a disastrous summer with new humiliationd almost daily in Afghanistan and the rule of law crumbling in our streets while on the economic front the only good news is that the news is not quite as bad as it has been for some time.

And once more therer are whispers about a plot to oust Brown being hatched in time for the Labour conference in a couple of weeks.

3 Sept 2009 After The Bubble, The Ballooon

There was a lot of talk last year and in the first half of this year about introducing new financial regulatory systems so no more investment bubbles could ever happen. It was just talk of course, in a capitalist environment the financial system must bubble, it cannot stand still. As John Steinbeck wrote in his 1930s novel The Grapes Of Wrath, "the banking system is a monster that must grow because if it stops growing it dies." Steinbeck has been proved right more than one and yet capitalism keeps on blowing bubbles. Why? Because although capitalism has failed time and again all the other trade sustems that have been proposed to replace it have failed even more catastrophically.

Now the banks and governments of the free world are facing up to the reality that the system may be so badly damaged after the latest bust it is beyong being reinflated. This is why we have seen the fools rally in stockmarkets through the quiet summer months. In a period when trading volumes in the markets are traditionally thin it is easy to push up prices of stocks and shares by companies and banks buying in their own stock. The rally is false and talk of recovery is an attempt to keep economies afloat by pumping in hot air. The Balloon economy.

What they are hoping to achieve through the launch of this economic hot air balloon is give people the confidence to start bowwowing and spending again, thus restarting consumer led growth. Unfortunately too many people are maxed out already and even more have lost what little trust they had in the political and financial systems.

Be ready for a rough ride. The problem with hot air balloons is one they are in the air nobidy has much control over when, where or how hard they will land.

Though borrowing is falling faster than anticipated, thanks to the fact that spending cuts are finally beginning to kick in, the national debt has risen to 64.2 per cent of GDP. More significantly,…

The Obama administration knifes Britain in the back again over the Falklands - By Nile Gardiner World
In yet another display of disdain for the Anglo-American Special Relationship, the Obama administration has weighed in on the mounting tensions between Great Britain and Argentina over the Falkland Islands. Just two days after Prime Minister David Cameron issued a robust statement in the House of Commons vowing to defend the sovereignty of the Falklands,…

Drones In The Hands Of The Paparrazi - It's an ethical minefield
America's use of drones for targeted killings is serious enough. But commercial and law enforcement uses are on the horizon. Whether you view them as model aeroplanes for grown-ups or the handmaidens of the killer robot, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), commonly known as drones, are taking off in earnest. ...

The Observer uncritically regurgitates Trotskyist smears against Katharine Birbalsingh- By Toby Young, Daily Telegraph
There’s a disgraceful attempt to smear Katharine Birbalsingh in this morning’s Observer. Under the headline “Katharine Birbalsingh criticised over ‘wasteful’ free school project“, the paper’s policy editor Daniel Boffey tries to create the impression that there’s growing local opposition to the Michaela Community School – Birbalsingh’s free school – which is due to open in…

We’re being sent the bill for the euro crisis again – this time by the IMF - By Daniel Hannan First it was individual banks; then whole industries; then entire countries; now it’s the world. Western leaders have reacted to the failure of each bailout by decreeing a bigger one. Unable to admit their mistake, slaves to the defunct economist whose thinking dominates our economics faculties and central banks, they act like so many Nick Leesons,…

The Three Parent Family More on the progressive left's war on the family and the scientific dictaorship's attempts to dehumanize us all. Babies with three biological parents could be born within three years. Scientists have come up with an IVF technique that uses the undamaged DNA of a third party when couples risk giving their children a genetic conditions such as muscular dystrophy or ataxia. The Wellcome Trust has funded the research (the figures vary between £4 million and six million …

As Obama Positions Himself For A War In Syria We Learn That Like Gadaffi, Assad Is Popular With His People
Most Syrians back President Assad, but you'd never know from western mediaAssad's popularity, Arab League observers, US military involvement: all distorted in the west's propaganda war. Suppose a respectable opinion poll found that most Syrians are in favour of Bashar al-Assad remaining as president, would that not be major news? Well one did and we never heard a word of it in the Obama felching western media ...

Bullshit Sherlock
While other blogs are full of how great the cliff - faller ending of Sherlock Holmes was I felt a bit let down. The fake suicide was telegraphed all through the show. And the coda assured us Sherlock had survived. We should not forget of course it was the habit of ...

Will bringing back grammar schools boost social mobility? by Toby Young Daily Telegraph
The possibility that England may shortly see its first new grammar school in over 50 years has, predictably enough, re-opened the debate about selective education. Yesterday, for instance, Allison Pearson came down firmly in favour, while Fiona Millar shot back with an instant rebuttal. I’ll get into that argument in a moment, but first let’s be…

So Why Read Books Anymore
There is great “truth and beauty” in Homer’s Iliad, but I would not try to make his sale on such platitudes. Gibbon’s The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire remains a classic. But I confess it can be hard to get through. Conrad’s Victory or Knut Hamsun’s Growth of the Soil, if authored by writer X this year, would be trashed on Amazon. So what are the reasons, in this age of ...

Eric Holder and the Chicago Way In America Obama's Brownshirts are getting hysterical as they try to make race the major issue in the election campaign.

Dystopian Prophecies Are Coming True - The Government Will Soon Choose Our Wives
Thinking of this entertaining new literary award – “the Hatchet Job of the Year” – it was natural to turn to Macaulay’s Essays, for few reviewers have ever been less reluctant to wound. I had in mind two long review-essays, one on Robert Montgomery’s Poems, the other on The State in its relations with ...
