According to last year’s Nielsen report, the average American over the age of two years old watches more than 34 hours of television per week, plus at least three more hours of taped programming. The report also noted that the amount of time we spend watching television increases as we get older.

Proof That The UK Government Is Funding Terrorists

The UK government has indirectly funded al-Qaeda terrorist groups through sending taxpayer-funded aid in a way that could be “confiscated” by the terrorists, the UK Department for International Development (DFID) has admitted in an astonishing bout of honesty.
While the government is increasingly expanding its domestic spending cuts in a bid to contain the budget crisis developed in the wake economic meltdown in the country and reduce the systemic deficit cause by over generous social benefits, uncontrolled immigration under the Labour government of 1997 to 2010 and joblosses casused by offshoring and automation, it’s expenditure on foreign aid is dramatically rising and is due to reach about £11billion by 2015, to meet the government’s pledge that aid spending should be 0.7 percent of gross national income.
Numerous instances of 'humanitarian' aid being channeled to terrorist groups of diverted by dictators for military purposes or vavily projects are highlighted, one that should spark outrage involves aid to Somalia in the form of a shipment of military equipment which disappeared immediately after being delivered.
It was 3 months before any action was taken although it was widely reported by local media al-Shabaab, the Somali-based terrorist group has managed to seize the equipment from DfID contractors in multiple incidents. After repeated “confiscations” by al-Shabaab, £480,000 worth of humanitarian materials and supplies” was written off, DfID’s statistics showed.'
An investigation by the Public accounts Committee shows the confiscations took place between November 2011 and February 2012 and from multiple locations. £480,000 worth of “humanitarian materials and supplies” sent to Somalia was written off, DfID’s statistics showed. Local sources suggest the bunk of this was confiscated from DfID contractors in multiple incidents. Somali-based Terrorist group al-Shabaab is known to have gained possession of the equipment.
Matthew Sinclair, chief executive of UK libertarian activist group the TaxPayers' Alliance deplored the government for seeking to increase the amount of overseas aid at a time when britain's social problems out to take priority.
“If a foreign government has enough cash to invest in an ambitious space programme, it should not expect to be receiving cash from the UK which is earmarked for helping the world’s poorest,” he said in a press statement.
British Foreign Affairs minister William hague acknowledged, "The Government does seem to have indirectly funded terrorist groups."

The British overseas aid industry under the government which never changes no matter which party nominally holds power has been funding terrorism and tyrannies to forment unrest for its own ends for decades. And we are not the only nation that likes to play at global policeman while simultaneouly stirring unrest that will develop into conflicts we later get involved in. Although the foreign aid budget appears to be ring fenced and immune to the austerity measures squeezing outher areas of the economy, the proportion of foreign aid donated to the truly poor countries that is those not impoverished by civil conflict or whose economies are growing faster than any in the developed world, has dropped from 80 percent to just over 65 percent under the coalition government.
Another section of the report disclosed that last year at least £1.5bn of British taxpayers money was given to 'third world' nations which are developing their own space and ballistic missile programs, The Times newspaper reported. We should remember here that the definition of a third world nation is not simply a nation of profound poverty, but a nation in which the wealth gap between a small, controlling elite and the masses is so wide it prohibits upward social mobility.

Benghazi Cover Up Conceals US Supplying Arms To Syrian Rebels

A report from CNN has reintroduced the Benghazi Scandal to the US media spotlight. The report claims that dozens of CIA agents were on the ground in Benghazi on the night of the attack. Since the event almost a year ago, the CIA and the Obama Administration have gone to great lengths to suppress details of what happened on that night being released.
The CNN report alleges that the CIA has engaged in a concerted effort to stifle employee leaks, and in what amounts to intimidation of news reporters to keep the secrets of Benghazi hidden.
There can only be on reason for this, to hide the CIA’s or the Adminitrations's role in supplying arms to known extremists and avowed enemies of the United States in Libya and Syria. Furthermore the CNN report alludes to the CIA supplying surface-to-air missiles via Benghazi to rebels in Syria.

Sources now tell CNN dozens of people working for the CIA were on the ground that night, and that the agency is going to great lengths to make sure whatever it was doing, remains a secret. CNN has learned the CIA is involved in what one source calls an unprecedented attempt to keep the spy agency’s Benghazi secrets from ever leaking out.
Since January 2013, some CIA operatives involved in the agency’s missions in Libya, have been subjected to frequent, even monthly polygraph examinations, according to a source with deep inside knowledge of the agency’s workings. The goal of the questioning, according to sources, is to find out if anyone is talking to the media or Congress. It is being described as pure intimidation, with the threat that any unauthorized CIA employee who leaks information could face the end of his or her career.
Speculation in Washington has included the possibility the U.S. agencies operating in Benghazi were secretly helping to move surface-to-air missiles out of Libya, through Turkey, and into the hands of Syrian rebels.
Although Saudi Arabia have recently been given “the Syrian card” by the United States it has become common knowledge that since the onset of the Syrian crisis Qatar was the main conduit supplying arms and funds to both the political and militant elements of the so-called “opposition”.
Accordingly, it seems certain that both the CIA and Qatari intelligence were involved in an operation to ship arms stockpiles from “rebels” in Libya; to the “rebels” in Syria: both varieties of which are inextricably linked to Al Qaeda affiliates and radical Salafi-Jihadi militants.

Former Prime Minister Outs Golbal Naziism Agenda

Helen Clark was New Zealand's first woman Prime Minister. She is both a socialist and a globalist. She is also a beliver in totalitarian buraucratic dictatoeship. Somehow her fascist sympathies escaped the voters of New Zealand and Clark was in office for a total of nine years (three full terms).
In New Zealand's political and media circles it was well know that Helen Clark was willing to go along with the “new world order” to further her personal ambitions. The New World Order in fact is not new, it is really the ordr of Hitler Ans Mussolini, of Stalin and Mao, of Bonaparte, Elizabeth II, various Popes and of Julius Caesar. It is the hierarchic order of authoritarianism on a global scale. Clarke made a deal that if she supported global totalitarianism then upon leaving office as New Zealand’s Prime Minister she would be appointed into a key position at the United Nations.

For years we have been assailed by the techno-fuckwits and Apple Fanboys burbling about how Apple were not a profit hungry corporation but a bunch of philanthropists who only invented wonderful innovative technology because of their philanthropic desire to improve peoples' lives or that the integration of our brains with Apple software would be the next phase of human evolution. We at The Daily Stirrer begged to differ (don't we always, that name was not chosen by accident) and pointed out the folly of those who claimed superior intelligence on the basis of their choosing to pay twice as much for an inferior product because it had a cute, pretty logo.
We also told Apple fans Steve Jobs was not The Messiah, he was a very naughty boy who repeatedly ripped off other people's ideas (neither the WIMP GUI, Smart phones, The Touch Screen, Tablet computers not 'Apps' were first marketed by Apple, all were subjected to Apple's syllogistic rebranding which must be the greatest triumph of marketing over mediocrity ever.
Jobs himself was the most hypocritical Buddhist ever while for all their posing, in terms of Corporate fascism Apple were just as bad as Microsoft, Google, Facebook and Amazon.
Now we can bring you news that Apple has singed up to the Nazification of democracy by obtaining a patented on a piece of technology which would allow government and police to block transmission of information, including video and photographs, from any public gathering or venue they deem 'sensitive'.
In other words, government agencies will have control over what can and cannot be documented on wireless devices during any public event. And while the company says the affected sites are to be mostly cinemas, theaters, concert grounds and similar locations, Apple Inc. also says “covert police or government operations may require complete ‘blackout’ conditions.”
'Additionally,' Apple tells us in a press release, 'the wireless transmission of sensitive information to a remote source is one example of a threat to security. This sensitive information could be anything from classified government information to questions or answers to an examination administered in an academic setting.'
The statement led many to believe that authorities and police could now use the patented feature during protests or rallies to block the transmission of video footage and photographs from the scene, including those of police brutality, which at times of major events immediately flood news networks and video websites.
Apple patented the means to transmit an encoded signal to all wireless devices, commanding them to disable recording functions.

A UK Drug Safety Agency falsified vaccine safety data, put 6 million children at serious risk from improperly tested vaccines.
An exclusive report by Child Health Safety follows the announcement that Japanese health Authorities will withdraw their support for human papilloma virus [HPV] vaccines, which are sold as providing immunity against cerrvical cancer, because of unacceptable numbers of serious side effects among Japanese women and girls. The UK media and mainstream media in other western nations have failed to report this news as government health agencies and Pharmaceutical companies continue to push the two suspect vaccines as being essential (and justifying their scaremongering by vastly overstating the risk of a woman developing cervical cancer. In some nations there has even been talk of making the vaccine mandatory with criminal charges being threatened for parents who refuse to submit their daughters to the medication. There has even been talk of requiring boys to be vaccinated as well, proof - as if any were needed - that the people running our world are insane with power.
The doubts about the safety of HPV vaccines concern millions of British school children and families yet the media (in conspiracy with government and corporate interests?) have suppressed this vital news. Take some advice from The Buddha, to paraphrase, "do not believe anything you read or hear, newspapers, TV news reports etc. unless you have first tested it against your own experience and conmmon sense." The mainstream media has become nothing more that a government propaganda agency and governments are far too cosy with global corporations for the health of democracy. Parents have all sorts of scaremongering 'public information' aimed at them but are not told their children are not at serious risk of developing Cervical Cancer.
As the Child Heath Safety report (linked in first paragraph) states:
"The targeted vaccination group of 12-year-old British schoolgirls are at no risk of contracting cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is an extremely rare disease. The risk is normally zero up to age 20. The risk of serious adverse reactions from the vaccine is therefore infinitely higher. In the UK the disease is so rare there are just 3 deaths in every 100,000 women of all ages as figures from Cancer Research UK show. What is worse is that by the time there is any risk for these schoolgirls any effect from the vaccine [if there ever was one] would have worn off yet these young women may then think they are protected and fail to undergo routine screening when they will still need it regardless of the vaccine.
By the time there is any risk of mortality for these 12 year-old schoolgirls it is extremely low. The risk of death from cervical cancer in the age range 20-24 is 3 in every million women of that age range. The disease does not normally affect schoolgirls. The highest number of deaths occur in women in their late seventies."
In Britain the body responsible for monitoring the safety of medicines and vaccines is the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency [MHRA] When doubts about the safety of HPV vaccines were first raised the MHRA's initial response was to encourage health professionals not to report adverse reactions. This was done in formal advice issued in the name of Chief Executive Professor Sir Kent Woods. his letter to doctors and senior nurses advised that "reactions can be psychogenic" – or in simpler terms a figment of 12 year old schoolgirls’ imaginations and nothing to do with the vaccines [see link below for full details].
Next the data from over 6000 reports of suspected adverse reactions was systematically altered resulting in the MHRA declaring the vaccine safe when it was not.
Another deception perpetrated by MHRA staff falsified figures to make the rate of adverse reactions appear lower by substituting the number of doses given for the number of children receiving the vaccine. Tampering with statistics in this way reduced the numbers of adverse reactions per child by three times, because each child receives three doses of the vaccine. So whilst 6 million doses may have been given that represented only around one third of that figure in children receiving the vaccine – resulting in the rates of adverse reactions reported being calculated as 300% lower than the actual child. to vaccine ratio.
In other words if all children received all three doses then the crucial figure was not the number of doses but the number of children who suffered reactions compared to the total number of children.

Today Natural News denounces Melissa Harris-Perry, the latest talking head "death worshipper" to publicly imply that she supports the murder of living, breathing newborn children. According to Harris-Perry, life begins when the parents feel like life begins. And together with some twisted new "ethics" arguments from the radical left, this can include months or years after a child is born.
That's why I need to premise this article with a disclaimer: This article is not about abortion. It's about the murder of children after they are born. Because once a child is born alive, terminating that life is no longer a "choice" … it's murder by every legal and moral standard. Because while abortion friends and foes can argue about when life begins in the womb, no one disagrees that a child born alive is, well, ALIVE… do they?
Indeed, they do. MSNBC talking head Melissa Harris-Perry insists that life only begins when the parents have a "feeling" that it begins. "When does life begin? I submit the answer depends an awful lot on the feeling of the parents. A powerful feeling -- but not science," Harris-Perry said to nationwide astonishment on her July 21 MSNBC show.
And in one stroke, she simultaneously condones the murder of newborn infants (i.e. "post-birth abortion") while attacking the science of biology which unambiguously states that a living, breathing infant with a heartbeat and brain function is alive, not dead.
But don't tell that to the radical pro-choice whackos. Far beyond arguing for the "right" to abort a baby in the first or second trimester, many abortion advocates who run in the same circles as Melissa Harris-Perry are now publicly arguing that it is okay for parents to kill their children up to age three. This is now being promoted as a "post-birth abortion."

US officials warn Russia against giving refuge to Edward Snowden

'In a blunt warning to Russia, Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, said Russia is provoking a diplomatic crisis with its reported granting of refuge to Snowden.
“I repeat my message to Russia that providing any refuge to Edward Snowden will be harmful to US-Russia relations,” Menendez said in a statement sent to the Los Angeles Times.
“Edward Snowden is a fugitive who should be prosecuted in the US for the serious allegations of espionage. Snowden remains in possession of sensitive documents, and for Russia or any nation to grant him asylum or safe passage directly concerns our national security priorities.”'

Turmeric Beats Prozac For Depression
A new study published in the journal Phytotherapy Research has confirmed for the first time in a randomized, controlled clinical trial that the primary polyphenol in turmeric known as curcumin is both safe and effective in treating serious states of depression.[1]
The research was performed at the Department of Pharmacology, Government Medical College, Bhavnagar, Gujarat, India, and involved patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder (MDD). The objective of the trial was to compare the efficacy and safety of curcumin with fluoxetine (Prozac) in 60 patients diagnosed with MDD. Subjects were randomized to receive either a six week treatment with fluoxetine (20 mg) and curcumin (1000 mg) individually or their combination.
Success of the treatment was evaluated using the 17-item Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAM-D17). The results were reported as follows:

Russia Amasses ‘Full Combat Readiness’ Strategic Bombers
While the sensationalist, trivia obsessed mainstream media obsesses about the NSA snooping, Ed Snowden's wherabouts, the Trayvon Martin case and The Royal baby, those of us watching the real news are aware Vladimir Putin has called for the nation’s strategic bombers to enter a state of ‘full combat readiness’ following the ‘snap drills’ that were initiated after Israel bombed Russian-made missiles within Syria.
Russia’s build up of over 160,000 military personnel, war ships, fighter planes, and strategic bombers has been virtually ignored by the mainstream media — with only Russian-based news services really reporting on the entire event. Now the daily Stirrer is very cautious about how much faith we put in news reports from Russian media, but at British, European and American media have abandoned reporting real news in favour of hysteria about The Birth Of A Baby (not an everyday event? Government Abusing Its Powers? (not a matter for public concern or wallowing in liberal angst over the fate of an infant delinquent wannabe dickhead who went out looking for trouble and met a fat, fantasizing wannabe Robocop, we are being kept in the dark about the buildup to World War Three (well that's not news is it? I mean, millions dead, nations laid to waste, who gives a flying fuck?).
From the Israeli bombing of the Russian missile base in Syria (what? You had heard nothing of that? What have I just been telling you, pay attention.) to the ‘snap drills’ calling upon Russian forces to enter this period of ‘full combat readiness’, it appears that only Russia Today, the English language news channel, has been analyzing the situation and looking at what’s going on based on military sources.
Believed to have originally been revealed by anonymous intelligence individuals within the US military (friends of Ed Snowden?) and shared with CNN as reported by the Israeli National News, the revelation that Israel was behind the strike on the Russian-made missiles in Syria may be behind the reason for the combat drill — assuming the Russians found out before the general public. Unfortunately, the US mainstream media is too busy covering the minor intricacies of what George Zimmerman ate for breakfast to discuss the potential brewing of mega conflict.
And when you throw the Snowden factor into this mix of tensions between world powers, it’s additional fuel on the fire.

China sends infantry troops to Africa
At the Daily Stirrer we are thick skinned old guys who have survived decades of backstabbing in the corporate boardroom so when we make a prediction and it does not immediately come true prompting dickheads to mail us "HAA HAA HAA you olf gits got that one wrong," it does not hurt. We are never wrong, it just take months, sometimes a couple of years for our predictions to come true.
Earlier this year for example we reported on how many African nations have American troops are currently involved in convert operations within their boundaries. And we predicted China and Russia, major powers that have been expnding their business interests in masny places where Obama now has forces on the ground, would respond sooner or later.

For the second time in a little over a year, China has infantry on the ground in Africa, reflecting the Chinese military’s increasingly global presence.
Three-hundred ninety-five peacekeepers from the People’s Liberation Army just arrived in the Saharan nation of Mali as part of the UN mission to help restore order there. Specifically, Beijing has sent engineering, medical and “guard” teams to the Malian capital of Bamako, according to the Chinese defense ministry. These troops are reportedly part of the PLA’s 16th Army, a formation comprised of infantry, armor and artillery divisions.
China traditionally sends thousands of engineering, medical and other support troops on UN missions each year. Of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, China is the largest manpower contributor to UN peacekeeping missions.
Until very recently, however, China did not send infantry on UN missions. In fact, Beijing officially insists the soldiers in Mali aren’t combat troops, perhaps in order to maintain the idea that China doesn’t send official combat troops on peacekeeping missions.
“The Chinese security force is actually a guard team that will mainly be responsible for the security of the [UN mission] headquarters and the living areas of peacekeeping forces,” a Chinese defense ministry spokesman is quoted by China’s state-run Xinhua news agency as saying.
Still, this latest deployment marks the second time in the last two years that China has sent infantry soldiers to Africa with the purpose of guarding peacekeeping missions. In 2011, Beijing sent infantrymen to guard PLA engineers participating in a UN mission in South Sudan. Despite Beijing’s claims that these troops were there solely for the purpose of guarding the engineers, the U.S. China Economic and Security Review pointed out that these guards were from an “elite” combat unit.
Not quite exactly as we predicted but hey, come on we rely on experience and common sense not Tarot cards or a Crystal Ball. Once again however it is time to say "WE TOLD YOU SO."

'A source close to British Prime Minister David Cameron has confirmed that the UK is no longer planning to arm Syrian foreign-backed militants after being warned about the strength of the Syrian army.
David Cameron made the decision after British military chiefs warned him that the recent successes of the Syrian government forces against the Al Qaeda affiliated terrorists already being armed by Turkey, Saudi Arabia and the regime on the Terrorist - In - Chief Barack Hussein Obama in the USA means Britain's sending the rebels small arms and missiles would be unlikely to sway the conflict in favour of the Islamists who want to vreplace a secular tyrannt with an Islamic theocrcy based on Sharia law.

Mad Scientists Now In A Race To Create Human - Animal Hybrids

There is something very creepy and sinister embedded in the typical scientists desire to play God. It is a complete, psychopathic disregard for moral boundaries. If we can do it that justifies our doing it.
Naturally the sociopathic dickheads scientists engaged in thus research insist they would never try to develop onevof these genetically modified monsters to maturity, but you know as well as I do, they will be bursting to do just that. Scientific curisosity my arse, it is that desire to play God these sick freaks can't resist.
Over the past decade, there have been some enormous advances in the field of genetic modification. Today, it is literally possible for college students to create new lifeforms in their basements by masdhing up DNA from various species.
Unfortunately, laws have not kept pace with these advancements, and while such people should be banged up for the safety of themselves and others, in many countries there are very few limits on what scientists are allowed to do and what limits there are can be evaded with the aid of a few well placed bribes. It should be no surprise that Kenya is a major centre for this type of research.
As you will read about below, extremely creepy human-animal hybrids are now being created in many laboratories. And this is just the stuff that is publicly admitted.
Can you imagine what kind of sick and twisted experiments are taking place in the dark corners of secret labs that nobody knows about? And what happens if these creatures get out into the wild and starting mating? At that point, it would be nearly impossible to “put the genie back into the bottle”. Scientists seem very eager to test the limits of what is possible, but as usual with their breed they are unwilling to acknowledge there may be undesirable consequences, let alone accept any responsibility for their insane idiocies.

A private case going through a British court of arbitration at the moment involves two very large supply organisations.

Then, in the face of worrying reports that (a) wind turbines do not generate anything like as much power as their supporters claim and (b) the operational life of these machines is less than half what was claimed, our leaders upped the pace of investing our industrial and social future in a shiny new version of a medieval technology after being put on the naughty step by Euronazi Bureaucrats of Brussels for not turning the entire country into a cow - fart recycling plant.
In their haste to do The New World Order's bidding, the Mandarins of Whitehall called in some structural engineers, who gave them the first intelligent advice on wind turbine technology, specifically on the height increase and structural bulwarking necessary for adapting turbine structures for ocean use.
But our fine men from the Ministry didn’t ask a metals expert to comment. Had they done so, they might have been reminded about something: steel and salt water were never a good mix.

'Is the Obama administration at least partially responsible for turning the George Zimmerman trial into such a huge national spectacle?
Judicial Watch has obtained documents which prove that the Community Relations Service, a division of the Department of Justice, was sent to Sanford, Florida in late March 2012 “to help organize and manage rallies and protests against George Zimmerman“. This included spending quite a bit of money, arranging meetings between the NAACP and local leaders, and providing police escorts for protesters.
Someone needs to ask Obama why the federal government was doing this. A story that should have never made national headlines now threatens to unleash a firestorm of racial fury unlike anything we have seen since the Rodney King verdict.'

US Supreme Court rules Drug Companies exempt from Lawsuits
July 7, 2013. Washington. In case readers missed it with all the coverage of the Trayvon Martin murder kangaroo court trial and the Supreme Court’s rulings on bearded queens in bridal gowns and the Voting Rights Act, the US Supreme Court also made a ruling on lawsuits against drug companies for fraud, mislabeling, side effects and accidental death. From now on, 80 percent of all drugs are exempt from legal liability.
And you may think, "I am in Britain (or Europe, or Asia, India, Austraia, Africa,) what has this to do with me? Whatever privileges and exemtions the US government grants the drug corporations in the USA, it will try to bully the rest of the world into allowing the same privileges and exemptions (exemption from legal responsibility for murder by negligence for example) in all nother nations of the world. And the American government of Barack Hussein Obama is totally corrupt, entirely owned by fascistic corporations and is the enemy of freedom and democracy.
Unsurprisingly then, in a 5-4 vote, the US Supreme Court struck down a lower court’s ruling and award for the victim of a pharmaceutical drug’s adverse reaction. According to the victim and the state courts, the drug caused a flesh-eating side effect that left the patient permanently disfigured over most of her body. The adverse reaction was hidden by the drug maker and later forced to be included on all warning labels. But the highest court in the land ruled that the victim had no legal grounds to sue the corporation because its drugs are exempt from lawsuits.
When the courts a politicized and the most senior judges are in thrall to big money, a nation is a tyranny in everything but name.
The answer to this is simple of course. If you are being pressured to accept a drug by Doctors (who, remember, are paid by Big Pharma for prescribing drugs) and your doctor does not want to answer your questions about side effects, JUST SAY NO.
Do your own research, find an independent websit (i.e. not funded by Pharmaceutical companies or government, because politicians love the corporate hospitality and kickbacks and payola that comes from approving untested drugs ) and discover what ir says about the drug you are being offered. And if it does not make for good reading, ask what alternatives are available and research those too.
The drug companies don't want to kill you but they want to steal your money and once it's in their pockets they don't give a shit what happens to you.

A Small Step For Obama, A Giant Leap For Fascism
On Friday, 5 July 2013, in The White House, Pennsilvaia Avenue, Washington, without fuss or ceremony US President Barack Hussein Obama quietly signed his name to an Executive Order on Friday, allowing the White House to control all private communications in the country in the name of national security. The lack of fanfare was remarkable when we recall what a hopeless publicity junkie Obama is.
Or maybe not when you consider the nature of this new legal entity that bypasses the democratic process and and once again shows the President's contempt for the American Consitution.
This latest Executive Order, a 2,205-word statement offered as the “Assignment of National Security and Emergency Preparedness Communications Functions,” permits The President to usurp to himself and the federal government the power to control all communications and informations in the USA. Powers granted to The Presidential Office under the latest order are among the most far-reaching yet of any of Obama's unconstitutional acts.'
“The Federal Government must have the ability to communicate at all times and under all circumstances to carry out its most critical and time sensitive missions,” the president begins the order. “Survivable, resilient, enduring and effective communications, both domestic and international, are essential to enable the executive branch to communicate within itself and with: the legislative and judicial branches; State, local, territorial and tribal governments; private sector entities; and the public, allies and other nations.”
The U S government’s official website explains that that“infrastructure includes wireline, wireless, satellite, cable, and broadcasting, and the telecommunications carrier networks that support the Internet and other key information systems,” suggesting that the president has indeed effectively just allowed himself to control the country’s Internet access.
In order to allow the White House to reach anyone within the US, the president has put forth a plan to establish a high-level committee calling from agents with the Department of Homeland Security, Pentagon, Federal Communications Commission and other government divisions to ensure that his new executive order can be implemented.
In explaining the order, the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC) writes that the president has authorized the Department of Homeland Security "the authority to seize private facilities when necessary, effectively shutting down or limiting civilian communications."
Obama's suppoters in Europe were long ago reduced to defending him by saying, "Well at least he's not as bad as George W Bush".
A picture that is published in several US newspapers today carried the caption "At least George W Bush didn't pretend he was not a warmongering, corporate ass - licking patsy for big business with a profoundly anti - democratic contempt for due process and international law."
