Scientific Dictatorship: The Total Surveillance Society Is Coming Soon
Governments in developed nations around the world love to talking the language of catastrophe and inflate the dangers that face us while blaing us for the austerity measures imposed by politician's failure to deal with the criminality of big business and ine international bankers. There is one budget however that is not being cut no matter how much trouble the national economy is in.
Security and surveillance operations run by national intelligence agencies are having moneythrown at them and are increasingly networking their resources against the “crediblethreats”. What credible threats,” you might well ask? Al Qaeda? Iran?, North Korea?Drug Cartels? Cyber terrorists? Are these really credible threats. Or are they talkingabout subversives within society, the risible Occupy movement, those effete rich kidswho decided to live rough on the streets while occupying the financial districts of New York and London but as soon as nights get cold and dark went home to mum, ahot shower, a substantial meal and a warm bed.
In reality they were about as threatening as a smelly fart. The answer is “none of the above”. We are the threat. Just as the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is becoming a globalmilitary superpower without a distinct enemy, the Central Intelligence Agency,Britain’s MI-6, and other intelligence agencies are increasingly pooling their intelligence and networking their information-sharing networks. To what purpose would agencies in which secrecy and paranoia are almost an obsessive compulsionwish to cooperate? The answer is simple. In a world in which the tiny elite minority (the one per cent)of are well off and the super-majority living in abject poverty, the intelligence agencies, like national armed forces are being shifted from traditional manpower based operations to high tech, hands - free computer services in which machines not only do the bulk of the work but are increasingly relied on to make the decisions.
In a conflict between the minority super-wealthy and the rest of society, intelligence agencies those who work in the see anevolutionary advantage in setting themselves up as the protectors of the wealthy and protecting the interests of corporations and not the mass of citizens. Intelligenceagencies, therefore, have decided to become a global Panopticon where no one can hide and everything we do is tracked electronically.
You think this is the raving of a paranoid conspiracy theorist? Wrong, it is happening right now.
Why do we let them pull stunts like this on us? Three words, fear and panic. Think of all the scare stories about terrorism, crime, disease pandemics, food and water shortages, the sky falling down because we pumped too much carbon dioxide into it, oil running out, oil not running out and all the rest. Far to many people are whipped into compliance by fear and willingly surrender their freedom for an illusion of security that is created by government propaganda. The government hypes non - existent threats, nothing bad happens and the governmrnt says, "Look, we saved you."
