A Special Page For A Favourite Lady WELCOME to the Janet Caldwell Extravaganza
Labyrinth founder Ian Thorpe writes: From my online friendship with Texas based poet and writer Janet Caldwell and some of our nutty dialogues by e-mail and chat there emerged an intention to write her life story with me acting as editor, muse and steadying influence (an entirely new role for me. And what a life story it is. Unfortunately a deterioration in Janet's physical health led to the re-emergence of her old nemesis manic depression a.k.a. bipolar disorder. We made a great start then came off the rails as it became more and more obvious Janet would soo need a liver transplant if she was to survive. She is now doing well after being given a replacement liver in 2007 but the biography will have to wait. Janet's poems, wild, funny, violent, surreal, tragic, reflective, and often shocking tell her life story as well as any conventional autobiography could and reveal the essence of the woman rather than a chronological list of events.
